Keeping with traditions, Hoyoverse is releasing new skins during version 2.8 as the final cherry on top, so let's dig into the details of everything players can expect from Genshin Impact 2.8 events.
Release Date
Genshin Impact 2.8 is expected to arrive on June 22, 2022. However, we are still waiting for version 2.7; so this release date may change.
All Genshin Impact 2.8 Events
The main event of Genshin Impact 2.8 is called Summer Sea Sojourn. And even though it is taking place in the Golden Apple Archipelago, the event is not a rerun of Echoing Tales.
Nonetheless, the main reward is a new skin, the alternative outfit for Fischl, and we will need to complete challenges and be part of mini-games in the Summer Island of the Archipelago.
The Summer Sea Sojourn event will feature the following characters: Kazuha, Fischl, Xinyan, Yun Jin, Mona, Venti, Xiangling, and possibly Nahida the first character from Sumeru.
New Story Quest
We will receive a new hangout event and a story quest based on two Anemo characters:
- Shikanoin Heizou Hang Out event
- Kazuha Story Quest: Acer Palmatum Chapter: Act I.
More Events in Genshin Impact 2.8
Summer Sea Sojourn is for now, the event that we have more details on. However, it seems Diluc and the Dawn Winery are in trouble, and they will need the Traveler's help to battle enemies.
In this event, known as Secret War (Probably a name placeholder), Hoyoverse will introduce the new skin of Diluc.
And it couldn't be a summer and sea patch without some Waverider Action. The Surfing Pierce event will challenge players and their sailing skills.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Banners
Things are getting interesting. A couple of days ago, we received the drip marketing of the new Anemo character, the young detective Shikanoin Heizou.
Leaks revealed the launch of Kazuha's story quest in this patch. We can expect an Anemo boys banner.
Heizou was the only new character announced for version 2.8. Therefore the rest of the banners will be reruns, and some rumors indicate it is Klee and Yoimiya's turn, but there is still room for surprises.
Weapon Banners
There is no new 5-star weapon; thus, the Epitome Invocation will feature the signature weapons of the rerun characters and an extra filler weapon. For now, however, those details aren't revealed just yet - but can be expected from the Genshin Impact 2.8 livestream once it arrives.
