NHL 22 releases new deluxe IIHF Edition with a major discount

NHL 22 has been out for a few months, but a new IIHF Edition has just dropped along with the latest content update.

NHL 22 releases new deluxe IIHF Edition with X-Factor rewards

EA Sports announced a brand new partnership today between NHL 22 and the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) with a flurry of new content hitting the game.

Perhaps the biggest news was the upcoming addition of the Women's National Teams, but there's also new IIHF content hitting HUT 22 and World of Chel right now.

With NHL 22 now having a license to include IIHF content, they've added playable Men's and World Junior teams with the Women's teams on the way in January.

However, they've also revealed a newly branded edition available at a major discount this month, and it features a new glimpse at cover star Auston Matthews.

After gracing the cover of the Standard Edition and X-Factor Edition, it's no surprise that NHL 22 went back to Matthews for this new IIHF Update cover.

If you purchase the deluxe NHL 22 IIHF Edition you'll receive the following rewards:

• NHL 22 X-Factor Edition (Dual Entitlement)
• 22 HUT Premium packs
• HUT X-Factor Choice Pack (1 of 25)
• HUT Power-Up Starter Pack
• 5 World of Chel X-Factor Zone Ability Unlocks
• 5 Unlocked Hockey Bags

In addition, all players (existing and new) will receive the following by logging into NHL 22 Ultimate Team and World of Chel between now and January 10, 2022:

• IIHF Ultimate Team Uniform Pack
• IIHF World of Chel Bag

While the World of Chel reward is provided by logging into that game mode, you'll need to head to the HUT 22 storefront and claim a free pack for those rewards.

NHL 22 IIHF X-Factor Edition on sale at a major discount

If you still haven't grabbed NHL 22, now might be the best time possible as the game is available at a significant discount for certain versions at platforms.

Players hoping to hit the ice on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S will need to act fast, as the sale on those platforms ends in just three days.

You can purchase NHL 22 directly from the Microsoft Store at the following links for these discounted prices:

• NHL 22 Standard Edition on Xbox Series X|S for $41.99

The Microsoft Store doesn't clearly identify an exact end date and time for this sale, but viewing the title from a console on Thursday, December 9 shows it "ends in 3 days," meaning it should expire on Sunday, December 12, 2021.

There's good news and bad news for players hoping to snag NHL 22 on PS4 or PS5, starting with the fact that the Standard Edition is not currently discounted.

As a result, it makes little sense to grab either on PlayStation right now, as the NHL 22 IIHF X-Factor Edition is even cheaper than both of them.

The good news is that while the discount isn't quite as large, PlayStation users will have significantly more time to take advantage of this offer.
