This week's MLB The Show 21 Feature Premiere livestream has given us a deep dive into Stadium Creator and what it will offer for next gen gameplay.
Here's what we learned from Sony San Diego's developer deep dive into the MLB The Show 21 Stadium Creator.
MLB The Show 21 Stadium Creator
MLB The Show 21 will debut a brand new feature to the series, the Stadium Creator.
Sony San Diego have revealed that the MLB The Show 21 Stadium Creator has been in production for two years, so fan expectations are high now that it's finally coming.
The Stadium Creator will be a next-gen exclusive feature in MLB The Show 21, but it boasts a ton of potential for the future.
Here's what we learned about Stadium Creator and other details about next gen gameplay from Thursday's Feature Premiere livestream.
How Stadium Creator Works in MLB The Show 21
MLB The Show 21 will be the first run of Stadium Creator, but Sony San Diego has done a great job ensuring the feature has necessary limitations.
For starters, players will only be able to take 130 different pre-approved wall configurations into online play in MLB The Show 21, in order to balance potentially unfair stadiums.
This means players won't be able to build giant walls or easy home run spots in their stadiums online.
But don't think that this limits your ability to be creative with the Stadium Creator.
Stadium Creator Props, Scenery
To add some flair to your MLB The Show 21 stadium, there are tons of props available in Stadium Creator, including those currently in MLB stadiums today and some new ones made for the game.
These props vary dramatically, ranging from farm houses to player statues to dinosaurs. Yes, you read that right.
Along with these props, players can also change up the scenery and backdrop of their MLB The Show 21 stadium, meaning you can put it in a desert, forest, parking lot, or anywhere in-between.
The sky is the limit in MLB The Show 21's Stadium Creator, and props are how you'll reach it.
Which Game Modes Allow Stadium Creator?
While it is usable in all of these modes, there are some contexts where you won't be able to use your Stadium Creator creations, including March to October, Online Home Run Derbys, and some Diamond Dynasty game modes like Conquest and Showdown.
