FIFA 23: USA LEGEND Landon Donovan added to FUT Heroes roster

The FIFA 23 news just keeps coming, with a new deal with Marvel confirmed ahead of the next title.

The FUT Heroes will be getting a Marvel-inspired makeover in the next game, with more legends of the game being added in celebration.

Landon Donovan will be added to the roster in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, so discover about his career and playstyle below.

English readers will likely remember Landon Donovan from his two loan spells with Everton, however, it was in the MLS that the American was a real hero.

Spending 15 years in the MLS, he is the league's all-time assists leader, won a record amount of MLS Cups, and also leads assists for the men's national team and is the joint top goalscorer for them too.

A versatile forward, he was utilised across the attacking line and also in midfield, with great pace and ability on the ball standout features of his game.

We don't yet know what his rating will be in FIFA 23, but he could be a behemoth later in the Ultimate Team cycle after a couple of upgrades.

A New Team-Up

EA and Marvel Entertainment have announced a collaboration to bring a new cast of FIFA Ultimate Team Heroes to FIFA 23, reimagined and inspired by Marvel Comics.

This collaboration between two of the world’s largest entertainment brands will bring some of the game’s fan favourites to the game and celebrate their larger-than-life cult hero status alongside the amazing artists at Marvel

Each FIFA World Cup FUT Hero will receive a special illustrated FUT item at the launch of the World Cup game mode, with base versions of FUT Heroes being available at the launch of FIFA 23.

Stars like Yaya Toure, Landon Donovan and Ricardo Carvalho have all received special illustrated cards, with more set to be revealed soon.

FUT Heroes

FUT Heroes were new items in FIFA 22 that represent the unforgettable moments that turned the individual players into fan favourites.

The FIFA community view FUT Heroes as one level below an ICON in Ultimate Team.

FUT Heroes have league-specific chemistry which is tied to their specific hero moment, providing a green Club link to any player within the same league, as well as the usual nation link.

Throughout the FUT 22 season, we saw the FUT Heroes gain upgrades in the FUT Captains and Shapeshifters promos, to keep them in line with the increased power curve of the game.
