FUT Heroes was a new set of cards introduced in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, similar in some ways to Icon cards and celebrating past players.
After weeks of rumours and speculation, the brand new FUT Captains campaign has finally arrived.
EA has not only released upgraded FUT Hero cards but also a new promo squad, packed full of meta cards, with daily Prime Icon Moments SBCs thrown into the mix for good measure!
Latest - Team 2 Mini-Release Arrives
It's Sunday evening which can only mean one thing, the FUT Captains Team 2 mini-release is live now.
Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets headlines the three-man release, with Dimitri Payet and Seamus Coleman also added to the Team 2 squad.
All three cards join the main squad in packs. They will be available until Friday, April 22 at 6pm GMT / 1pm ET.
Team 2 Hits Hard
Team 1 was a hard act to follow, but Team 2 looks to have equalled, if not beaten it!
More incredible FUT Hero Captains have landed, with the best of the bunch a 94 OVR Abedi Pele.
Marcelo gains the highest rated card of the regular FUT Captains so far, again with a 94 OVR rating, closely followed by Jordan Henderson and Alexandre Lacazette, both with 93 OVRs.

Team 1
There was much build-up, with the FUT Captains promo leaked weeks before it finally arrived, and Team 1 did not disappoint.
The Ultimate Team promo squad featured more than just the new variants of the FUT Heroes, with present-day captains also in there.
Incredible boosted FUT Hero cards have arrived for Di Natale, Milito, Ljumberg and Dempsey.
Premier League stars Hugo Lloris, Jordan Henderson and Tyrone Mings are all included.
Marco Reus and Wissam Ben Yedder have both been handed INSANE cards.
HUGE daily SBCs imminent
The reliable FUT Sheriff revealed that daily Icon Moments SBCs would be released as part of the FUT Captains campaign in Ultimate Team.
As usual, his leak proved correct, and we have seen many PIM cards gaining SBCs.
We can expect to see more memorable club and national team captains' Moments cards released throughout the campaign.
FUT Captains
It turned out that TrustyFutTrader wasn't so trustworthy when they announced that FUT Captains would be the next promo in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team on Thursday, 10 February.
Despite the time frame being wrong, the promo has now landed, using the same concept of selecting players who captained their club or country.
New variants of the FUT Heroes have been introduced with insane upgrades, with present-day captains also featuring in the event.
As well as the squads being released into packs the regular objective player was also made available, with daily SBCs coming for Icons as well!
FUT Captains landed on Friday, 8 April, at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm BST, with Team 1 joining packs.
The promo is running for two weeks, with Team 2 coming on Friday, 15 April, again at 1pm ET / 6pm BST.
It is set to be the last major promo before we start the run in for Team of the Season on Friday, 22 April, with the main event leaked to kick off on Friday, 29 April.
