Shapeshifters is a returning promo from FIFA 20 and will see top stars getting their base positions played about with.
Find out all you need to know about the Shapeshifters promo below, including the latest news, and rumours around the cards.
Latest - A THIRD Team Coming?!
Once again, Fut Sheriff is leaking all the information before EA can officially announce anything, and he claims that a THIRD Shapeshifters squad is coming too!
Not just that, but a FOURTH team could also be on the way, although nothing is 'confirmed' for that one.
We'll wait to see what gets announced over the coming days, but we're excited to see if a full FUT Hero Shapeshifters squad is released!
Team 2 COMING SOON
Shapeshifters Team 2 will be coming on Friday, 24 June, and a 99 OVR Cristiano Ronaldo is leaked to headline the side!
There's not long to wait now for another brilliant side to come to packs, with more objective and SBC players on the way too.
The Shapeshifters promo launched on Friday, 17 June at 1pm ET / 6pm BST - the same time that the Ultimate TOTS rotated out of packs.
The event will run for at least two weeks, with Team 1 released initially, then Team 2 released on Friday, 24 June, and staying in packs for a further week, before rotating out on Friday, 1 July.
We say at least two weeks because rumours are that it could turn into a three or even four-week event, depending on how many more squads are released.
The Shapeshifters promo was first seen in FIFA 20, although it didn't reappear in FIFA 21, so we already knew what sort of mechanics to expect.
As always, the promo players will receive massive boosts, but they will also have their cards transformed, with changes coming to player positions, work rates, weak foot ability, and updated attributes to better suit their new position.
A squad was released into packs, with a couple of objective players made available when the event kicked off, as well as a few SBCs coming throughout the campaign.
Shapeshifters had two squad releases in FIFA 20, and EA are set to match and possibly exceed that, with leaks saying Team 3 is on the way, and Team 4 could also join!
The Shapeshifters promo has come to FIFA 22!
The leaks were proved correct once again, with some insane cards released, including two who boast 90+ in all their base stats.
Lionel Messi headlines the side with a 99 OVR card, but it is perhaps Alphonso Davies who is the star of the show.
As well as the main squad coming to packs, the following players have been released via objectives and SBC:
- Felipe Anderson - SBC
- Yannick Gerhardt - OBJ
- Nicolas Pepe - OBJ
- Yannick Carrasco - SBC
- Marcus Thuram - SBC
Team 1 Mini-Release
Three more players joined the Shapeshifters Team 1 players in packs at the weekend, with England international Jack Grealish the main attraction.
Andrew Robertson and Everton were the other players included in the Shapeshifters Team 1 mini-release.
Daily Delights Objective & SBC
The Shapeshifters content came early, with the Shapeshifters Daily Delights objective set launching on Wednesday, 15 June, giving you the opportunity to unlock player picks, a couple of Team of the Season Packs and a guaranteed Shapeshifters player!
The objective set and SBC have now expired, however, you can check out the rewards you could have gained right here.
It was leaked that three new Live FUT Friendlies would become available during the campaign, all offering untradeable rewards, which are:
- Shapeshifters Cup
- Shapeshifters Bronze Select
- Shapeshifters Silver Select
The Shapeshifters Bronze and Silver Select cups have launched, with EA testing out the Live Opponent mechanics in FUT Friendlies again, with Bronze teams battling against Silver ones.
The more wins you get in each mode, the better the rewards you gain in the corresponding objectives.
We are yet to see the Shapeshifters Cup mode, but if it is released we expect it to be similar to the other Live FUT Friendlies that have been released to accompany the promo squads.
There will be a maximum amount of entries per day and a corresponding Shapeshifters Cup objective that offers increasingly better rewards depending on how many wins you get.
