The new NBA 2K22 Neighborhood hits the high seas this year as you climb aboard the Cancha del Mar, which translates to "Court on the Sea".
Current gen users were a little worried when they saw all the updates coming to The City, but they'll get some cool features of their own in the Neighborhood.
From 2v2's and 3v3's to all the sidequests you can handle, we've got everything you need to know about the new Neighborhood.
NBA 2K22 Neighborhood on the sea
An interesting choice for a theme this year as NBA 2K22 will have players boarding a cruise ship to play games and complete quests this year.
This is huge for the current gen systems, where many expected that they'd have the same copy and paste Neighborhood from NBA 2K21. Instead, they'll have all-new breathtaking views.
There's a lot of area to navigate, so keep your eyes on us as we'll update you about the new quests and location once NBA 2K22 releases.
Getting around in Cancha del Mar
If you've had a look at the Courtside Report released by NBA 2K22, you'll see that Cancha del Mar is pretty huge for a cruise ship.
There are 2v2 and 3v3 games, along with 5v5 games as well. On the surface, it might seem daunting, but we're here to help. There's also a special NPC to help you find your way in The Lobby.
Heather, the NPC at the entrance of The Lobby will not only help you find your way throughout the ship but give you quests to do. Be sure to talk to her if you see a " ! " floating above her head.
Also, you'll want to get used to taking the elevator instead of walking, that's how you'll be getting around Cancha del Mar in NBA 2K22.
Cancha Del Mar Locations (Game Modes)
2v2's and 3v3's on Deck 15
If you're looking to play some simple games, or you only have a few friends online head to Deck 15 of Cancha del Mar and run some quick games.
Looking to level up your MyPLAYER, the Gatorade Training Facility is up there as well, work up a sweat while gazing out at the sea.
This deck will be constantly updating with new quests and we'll make sure to keep you updated as they get added.
3v3 and 5v5 on Deck 16
Ready to hop on a court surrounded by a lazy river? You better be, Cancha del Mar features plenty of courts ready to host your 3v3's and 5v5's.
We're hoping that we get the news you'll be able to swim in the lazy river this year. Considering the new RPG aspects, we hope we'll be able to interact with the water somehow.
"The Goat Boat"
Find more challenges to complete on the top level of Deck 16! Keep an eye out for NPC's with an exclamation mark over their head, indicating they have a quest for you.
"The Goat Boat" is a reality show where you can interact with members to receive more challenges. We hope this mode brings even more rewards to the Neighborhood.
As you navigate through the ship you'll find Ante Up, the Game Room, Restaurants, Daily Pick Em, and the Daily Spin on Deck 14. Plan for a ton of rewards this year given by NBA 2K22.
There will be daily rewards, and restaurants will do more than just serve fine-dining, they’ll be giving gifts and boosts a couple of times each Season, which you'll want to get in on.
Customization seems to be a focal point this year for NBA 2K22, and they're bringing that energy to MyCOURT in the Neighborhood this year. Head to Deck 8 to start decorating your court.
Remember, MyCOURT is your base of operations, so you'll want to make it unique to you. Don't skip out on the details, put a mural up on your wall or change out the scoreboard if you like.
Another piece to remember is that a lot of competition will take place in the Engine Room. Pro AM 3v3 games will take place there, but you'll only be able to join if you're on a squad.
Although this is a subtle change, it's an incredibly significant one. This year, NBA 2K22 doesn't want you to get bored while on the Cancha del Mar. Instead, they're planning to shake it up every single Season.
The cruise ship will dock at various locations throughout the entire year, all determined by the Season. Not only that, excursions and quests will be available to you, with each Season changing the theme.
There will be tons of stuff to do on and off the cruise this year and we'll be right here to keep you updated.
