NBA 2K22 is just around the corner, and MyCAREER is where we expect some big improvements this year!
The journey from the bottom to the NBA has always captivated players in MyCAREER, and while some use it as a portal to grind badges and OVR for their MyPLAYERS, others come back time and time again for the story.
Here's what we know about NBA 2K22 MyCAREER so far, and some things we're hoping to see.
NBA 2K22 MyCAREER connected to The City
For NBA 2K22 next gen editions, MyCAREER will be directly connected to The City in some awesome ways.
For starters, this will include housing in The City that players can purchase, customize, and visit. This housing will only get better as your NBA 2K22 MyCAREER grows and you sign better contracts.
This will also mean seeing other players advancing in their careers around you as you spend your time in The City.

While we've had some new NBA 2K22 gameplay features revealed, more is coming down the line as we get closer to the game's September 10th release date.
With this in mind, here's some things we'd like to see in NBA 2K22 MyCAREER.
NBA 2K story modes are driven by their cutscenes, creating a cinematic experience that sticks with players on their NBA journey. For NBA 2K21, the MyCAREER cutscenes largely stopped after making it to the NBA.
In NBA 2K22, the return of voiced cutscenes after making it to the NBA would add a lot more to the game mode.
The few choices in NBA 2K21 MyCAREER were very consequential like choosing your agent and college, and more of this is a very good thing moving forward.
Whether it's simple dialogue choices with teammates like previous NBA 2K games or more story-altering decisions to make - giving more choice to the player will really make NBA 2K22 MyCAREER stand out as a premiere story mode.

NBA 2K MyCAREER lets players customize their MyPLAYER from basketball attributes and position to looks, but one area that hasn't been an option yet is different voices.
This can be an immersion breaker when the default MyCAREEER voice doesn't match the character you've made, and would be a fantastic improvement all around.
Mixing in Affiliations
NBA 2K21 Affiliations added a constant energy to The City, and its return in NBA 2K22 could be a fantastic way to give some more storylines and choices to MyCAREER this year.
With the game mode already overlapping with The City on NBA 2K22 next gen editions, this could hammer it home, and could also appear in The Neighborhood for current gen editions.
