FIFA 23 Wonderkid CMs: Barca duo top the charts

If there is one thing you need to guarantee the future of your team it is a FIFA 23 wonderkid CM. These players can run the show for your team for years to come.

Wonderkids are the best way to build up the level of play in your team over time. As younger players they might not be world-class right away, but have bags of potential and could become the next Luka Modric or Kevin De Bruyne even as early as FIFA 24. And who doesn't want that in their team?!

FIFA 23 Wonderkid CMs

In this article, we are looking at the best wonderkid centre midfielders in FIFA 23. These players are natural at CM, but that won't stop them popping up on a wonderkid CDM or wonderkid CAM list as lots of players are natural at multiple central spots.

These players are all 19 years old or younger when you start Career Mode in FIFA 23, which means they have huge development potential and a long career ahead of them. You might not be able to afford them, but getting your hands on at least one of these players will immediately improve nearly any team in the world.

Pedri (OVR 85 - POT 92)

Team: Barcelona

Position: CM, CAM

Nation: Spain

Age: 19

Of course the top wonderkid CM is Pedri! Barcelona's 19-year-old CM is already and elite player and runs the show for Barcelona and Spain.

He starts FIFA 23 Career Mode with an 85 OVR but a huge 92 potential. He's got four-star skill moves and a four-star weak foot which makes him perfect for controlling tempo. His high/high work rate means he'll put in a shift too.

Pedri has 90 balance, 88 ball control, and 87 short passing so he can already dominate the midfield against any team. He's pretty good without the ball too. His 88 stamina, 73 standing tackle, and 72 interceptions means he can win the ball back.

Jude Bellingham (OVR 85 - POT 91)

Team: Borussia Dortmund

Position: CM

Nation: England

Age: 19

Jude Bellingham is hot on Pedri's heels, coming in with an 85 OVR but a slightly lower 91 potential. Bellingham is already England's best midfielder and this might be the last FIFA Career Mode where you can buy him as he's expected to make a huge move this summer.

ON THE MOVE - Bellingham is likely to get a huge transfer this summer

His four-star skill moves and a four-star weak foot provide plenty of creative opportunities for you, while his 86 short passing, 85 long passing, and 84 ball control make him a tempo-control player. He's also got 86 dribbling though, so he can go around players too.

Off the ball, Bellingham is a beast. He's got 91 stamina, 85 aggression, 81 interceptions, and 79 standing tackle. This all makes him very defensively capable and already puts him in the world-class bracket of centre midfielders.

Gavi (OVR 80 - POT 89)

Team: Barcelona

Position: CM, CAM

Nation: Spain

Age: 17

It just isn't fair that Barcelona have two of the best three wonderkid CMs in FIFA 23. At 17, Gavi has already broken through and shown his ability at the highest level.

DYNAMIC DUO - Gavi and Pedri are a devastating pair

In FIFA 23, he is a bit of a step down from Pedri and Bellingham, but he's still got a great future ahead of him. He's got three-star skill moves & weak foot, along with a high/high work rate.

Pedri brings 90 balance, 86 agility, 84 dribbling, and 83 short passing to the middle of the park, and is good without the ball too. He's got 85 aggression, 84 stamina, and 75 interceptions to help out at the back as well as creating scoring chances.

Eduardo Camavinga (OVR 79 - POT 89)

Team: Real Madrid

Position: CM, CDM

Nation: France

Age: 19

French teenager Eduardo Camavinga hit the headlines when he made a high-profile move to Spanish giants Real Madrid last summer. The 19-year-old is a classic box-to-box midfielder, with his talents equally balanced between in and out of possession.

DO IT ALL - Camavinga can fill any role you want in midfield

He's got 85 ball control, 84 short pass, 81 stamina, and 80 standing tackle along with good mentality attributes and a high/high work rate to keep going all day.

Camavinga also has a four-star skill move and three-star weak foot, but as a predominantly left-footed player he is a rarity in the middle of the park.

Fabio Miretti (74 OVR - 88 POT)

Team: Juventus

Position: CM, CAM

Nation: Italy

Age: 18

Next up is the lesser-known Fabio Miretti. Juventus' teenage midfielder has picked up plenty of minutes for the Serie A side this year and looks set to be at the heart of their midfield for a long time.

Miretti is quite different from the others on our list, and isn't ready for top tier play in FIFA 23 just yet. He's got 79 dribbling, 79 short passing, and 79 ball control as his best attributes, which is good but not in the class of Pedri, Bellingham, Gavi, and Camavinga.

He's also less impressive without the ball, having just 71 standing tackle and 62 interceptions. Still, his huge potential shows he is definitely one for the future.

FIFA 24

As 2023 wears on all eyes are looking ahead to FIFA 24, or EA Sports FC 24 as it may be known. The FIFA license has been a hot topic in recent months, with EA seemingly unwilling to pay the huge fee FIFA is asking for.

This has left the door open to the two splitting ways soon. With EA Sports seeming set to rebrand their franchise and FIFA perhaps looking to create their own title.

In recent comments, Gianni Infantino, FIFA President, said that FIFA will go head-to-head with EA and launch its own game.

EGAME?! - Infantino might need to brush up on his gaming language

With or without the FIFA name it is unlikely that EA Sports would stop producing an annual football game.

We expect FIFA 24, or EA Sports FC 24, to get a release date of around late September 2023, as this would be consistent with previous games. It is so far unconfirmed, but we expect the official release date to be Friday, 29 September 2023. There should well be some early access too, with a 10-hour trial for EA Play members as well.
