Formation & Tactics
We like using the 4-3-3 (4) formation as it truly offers a great balance between attacking options and ensuring a solid defensive base.
As with all four in the back formations, make sure your whole defence has the instruction to "stay back while attacking". You will find defending much easier if you also put the same instruction on Partey.
With these instructions, you will be one step closer towards defending like a pro.

Alphonse Areola is one of the best goalkeepers under 10,000 coins in FIFA Ultimate Team. The 6'5" giant is well balanced, and further down the line you could upgrade him for someone Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 90).
There are a few different options you could take for the goalkeeping spot but we think it is worth investing around 6,000 coins on Frenchman Areola.
Lukas Klostermann (OVR 79)

Lukas Klostermann is a great choice at right back. He is a tall full back at 6'2", while also being quick (90 sprint speed) and good defensively (80 standing tackle). Because of his good stamina (81), you will enjoy being able to maraud the right flank all game long.
The German truly is a bargain at only 1,500 coins. We think he is one of the best bargains in the Bundesliga.
Dayot Upamecano (OVR 77)

Dayot Upamecano has some unbelievable stats, such as having 88 strength and 84 standing tackle. Combined with his 80 sprint speed means you will buy a complete centre back that is ridiculously cheap.

Frenchman Upamecano only costs 700 coins at the moment so the word bargain is an understatement. His card is a super item to use in FIFA 20 and one that is a risk-free purchase.
Mario Hermoso (OVR 80)

Mario Hermoso is a rapid centre back that also has good defending and physical stats. We view him as a cheaper version of Sergio Ramos (OVR 89), with both the same height and are relatively quick CBs.
Hermoso, like Upamecano, is incredibly cheap. He costs around 800 coins at the moment, which again is far too cheap for his great stats.
Junior Firpo (OVR 79)

Junior Firpo is a well rounded left back that again is an absolute bargain. He has the same speed or more than much more expensive LB options such as Alex Telles (OVR 84), Alex Sandro (OVR 85) or Marcelo (OVR 85). He is also physically strong, being six foot tall and having a strength stat of 74.
Spending around 1k on him is a good investment if anything, as Spanish LBs tend to increase in price when popular SBCs come out.
Thomas Partey (OVR 82)

Best stats: 91 stamina, 84 short passing, 83 standing tackle
Cost: 1.6k PS4 / 1.7k Xbox One
It is a real mystery to why Thomas Partey only costs around 1.5k. He has almost perfect stats for a central midfielder that is there to dominate the park. He is 6'1", with almost perfect stamina, very good passing (short and long passing over 80) and 80 strength.

You may think Partey can only defend and pass, but he actually has 83 shot power and 80 long shots so you will definitely be able to score some screamers with him outside the box.
Julian Brandt (OVR 84)

Julian Brandt is a quality attacking option to have in your team. He has 4-star skill moves and a 4-star weak foot. Not only is he great at attacking but he is also 6'1" tall.
You will enjoy his ability to beat men by his dribbling (86) and finding killer passes (86 short passing) to your attackers. He will also score you quite a few goals, as he has 79 finishing and 80+ shot power and long shots.
Saul (OVR 85)

Cost: 9k PS4 / 10k Xbox One
Saul is a great all-round midfielder that will score you goals and set up the three attackers (85 short passing) ahead of him. He has excellent stamina (87) so he will be able track back all game long.
The Spaniard's passing is a dream to have for a midfielder and you will see him create so many opportunities for the front three.
Gonçalo Guedes (OVR 83)

Cost: 4.3k PS4 / 3.9k Xbox One
Dribbling with Guedes on a counter-attack makes you feel like you are using one of the best wingers in the game. He is fast (91 acceleration) but most importantly, his close touch dribbling (86) is supreme. Shooting wise, Guedes excels, the Valencia star has 85 shot power and 84 long shots, so he will score you some special strikes.

Buying Guedes for under 5,000 coins is a great deal. His price may even increase as the demand for 83/84 rated players may increase during the Ultimate Scream event coming up.
Serge Gnabry (OVR 84)

Serge Gnabry is the star of this team. Just like in real life at the moment, the German is just sensational to use. His dribbling is remarkable, with his key stats being 88 balance, 87 dribbling and 86 agility. His shooting stats are all very consistent and he is no doubt a very clinical player.
In a way, Gnabry and Guedes are both quite similar in their qualities. With both of them you will have complete attackers who are able to score you goals and assist other players.
Inaki Williams (OVR 82)

Inaki Williams is one of the fastest strikers in the game. Aside from his pace (94), he also has good dribbling (80) and shooting (80) to make him a complete finisher. It may also surprise you that he also as 6'1" height and 85 strength on his side.

Did we forget to mention that the Spaniard also has 4-star skills!? The only gripe about Athetlic Bilbao's Williams is his 2-star weak foot.
Spanish flair with German efficiency
Overall, this 100k FIFA 20 team has a great mix of attacking and defensive talents. You get the benefits of having a solid, rigid and strong defence while also having quite a lot of creativity and pace in attack.
This team is also a strong, tall team with having an average height of 6’2″, so you will have chances to bully your opposition all over the park.
