LATEST - Version 1.5 Out Now
Genshin Impact 1.5 has finally dropped and you can now jump back into Teyvat and take on everything new. The Server Downtime was a little bit long, lasting around five hours, but we're sure it's worth the wait.
This means that Zhongli's Banner has returned to the in-game store for the time being and the new character, Yanfei, can be pulled from it! Below, we have the latest on Yanfei directly from the Genshin Impact 1.5 Patch Notes:
4-Star Character "Wise Innocence" Yanfei
- Vision: Pyro
- Weapon: Catalyst
- A well-known legal adviser, active in Liyue Harbor. A brilliant young lady in whose veins runs the blood of an illuminated beast.
- Yanfei's Normal Attack has a Scarlet Seal effect.
- While Scarlet Seals are present, Yanfei's Stamina consumption is decreased. A Charged Attack consumes all Scarlet Seals, with the AoE and DMG of the attack increasing according to the number of Scarlet Seals consumed.
- Yanfei's Elemental Skill "Signed Edict" deals AoE Pyro DMG.
- Hitting opponents with the flames grants Yanfei the maximum number of Scarlet Seals.
- Yanfei's Elemental Burst "Done Deal" deals AoE Pyro DMG, granting Yanfei the maximum number of Scarlet Seals and applying the Brilliance effect to her.
- While Brilliance is in effect, Yanfei's Charged Attack DMG is increased and she is granted a Scarlet Seal at fixed intervals.
It is also worth noting that "in the event wish "Gentry of Hermitage," "Wise Innocence" Yanfei (Pyro) will receive a huge drop-rate boost". This could be the perfect time to get your hands on this new 4-Star character!
1.5 Update Release Time
The team behind Genshin Impact, miHoYo, has confirmed the release time for the upcoming version 1.5 patch in a recent blog post.
The update is due to release at 06:00 UTC+8 on April 28th. This means it will start at 18:00 EST / 23:00 BST.
In a similar fashion to the other major Genshin Impact title updates of this size, downtime is going to be pretty major. miHoYo is estimating that it will take around five hours, meaning that Genshin Impact 1.5 will not be available until 23:00 EST / 04:00 BST (April 28).
If you're just seeing this now, too, you can actually pre-load the update right now! This will save you some time in the morning if you're planning on just giving Genshin a break while it gets updated.
Zhongli Return Banner
Following the Chinese Language Genshin Impact 1.5 Livestream, we now know that the first Banner that's going to be coming to Genshin Impact 1.5 will actually feature the returning character Zhongli!
This will also introduce the new 4-Star Pyro Catalyst user Yanfei, who has been featured in a few leaks prior to this. You can check out the new Version 1.5 "Beneath the Light of Jadeite" Trailer here:
Zhongli is a Polearm-wielding Geo Element character that first appeared in Chapter 1 Act 2 of the Archon Quests, which make up the main narrative of Genshin Impact at the moment.
Eula Banner Coming Soon
In addition to this, we know that Eula will be featured in the second Banner to hit Genshin Impact in the Version 1.5 update. Genshin Impact Banners last around three weeks, so we're not expecting this until at least May 19th.
Here's the latest from the newest PlayStation Blog post:
" As the Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company, Eula is a five-star character, a claymore-user, and the bearer of a Cryo Vision."
" Her Elemental Skill, Icetide Vortex, increases her resistance to interruption and her DEF while dealing Cryo DMG. Her Elemental Burst deals AoE Cryo DMG to nearby enemies and creates a Lightfall Sword that follows her around for a certain duration, increasing her resistance to interruption."
Genshin Impact 1.5 Release Date
The above is just a taste of what's coming to miHoYo's genre-blending epic in the next major update.
Genshin Impact version 1.5 is coming on April 28th, using the end of the current Childe Banner as a guide, and we're expecting to see it kick off with another Banner and exciting in-game events.
Rumours and leaks have been rife, especially after multiple NDA breaches from Genshin Impact 1.5 Closed Beta testers, but thankfully now we've got something official to look forward to.
Genshin Impact's Growing Legacy
Genshin Impact released in September 2020, making it a fairly new title by any account. However, this hasn't stopped its meteoric growth into one of the giants of gaming. It might only feature four-player multiplayer action, but it's seemingly perfected the gacha monetization that mobile games thrive on to make it as profitable as it is fun to play.
The game's developers, miHoYo, have reportedly cleared the $USD 1 Billion mark by the end of last month. It's the third most revenue from a mobile game in the same period, only being beat by PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings!
We know Genshin Impact Version 1.5 might seem a little smaller than we were anticipating given this incredible growth, but we know that miHoYo have a lot of plans for this game and we're not expecting its success to slow down anytime soon.
