Today, the top ten defensemen in the game were revealed and were split by Left Defensemen and Right Defensemen.

The official release date of the game is October 14, 2022, but we're going to get a ton of NHL 23 ratings leading up to that date.
Yesterday, the top ten wings were revealed on each side, leading the group was Patrick Kane, who came into the game with a 93 OVR rating.
The Right Wings have five players that are 90+ OVR when it comes to the NHL 23 ratings but there could be even more updates in the future.

Having a strong group of defensemen will only help you succeed when the game comes out and these NHL 23 ratings showcase the first 94 OVR player.
Cale Makar leads all defensemen with a 94 OVR, the next closest is Roman Josi, who leads the left defensemen with a 93 OVR.

Top Left Defensemen in NHL 23
The top Left Defensemen in the game are led by Roman Josi who comes in with a 93 OVR rating but he's tied with Victor Hedman.
With two players at 93 OVR it'll be interesting to see how the NHL 23 ratings shake-up as the year continues.
Perhaps what's most interesting is that John Carlson didn't make the list on either side. Although he's aging, you could say that this is a serious NHL 23 ratings snub.
