FIFA 22 TOTY: How to prepare for Team of the Year in Ultimate Team

The FIFA 22 Team of the Year (TOTY) vote is now officially open, with EA set to release the squad into packs in Ultimate Team VERY soon.

So, we're here to make sure you are fully prepared for the TOTY promo when it arrives!

Read on to find out our investment tips and how to easily build up your packs ahead of the promo.

Patience is key

Now, you may have heard popular content creators or FUT Twitter accounts barking on about saving packs for Team of the Year, but there is a right and a wrong way to do this.

You don't want to be saving absolutely ALL of your packs for when the Team of the Year squad is released - this is because you need to keep the flow of players and coins coming into your club over a couple of weeks prior to the promo.

What we would recommend is saving ALL player packs, including mixed player packs, but not all non-player packs.

You should open any non-player packs that are worth 30,000 coins or less which includes Mega Packs.

Opening these packs will not only provide you with players and consumable items that you can sell for coins on the transfer market but also players that you can submit into SBCs in order to save larger, more valuable packs for TOTY.

Investment Tips

Any cards that are in packs during TOTY will decrease in price when the huge supply arrives from everybody opening their packs.

So, we would recommend avoiding holding onto any high-value or meta Gold cards that are in packs during TOTY, so you don't lose value on these.

Sniping & flipping

There will be plenty of lightning rounds during TOTY which will cause the supply of cards to spike massively.

You will be able to snipe higher-value cards for a cheaper price than their market value during this time.

You will then be able to 'flip' these cards instantly by selling them at a higher price.

Rinse and repeat this method and make a BIG profit.

Investing in fodder

Regularly checking the price of SBC fodder can allow you to buy high-rated cards when they are low and sell them when they are at their peak.

The price of fodder fluctuates hugely, depending on which SBCs are available at that time.

How to build up packs

Luckily, there are a few different ways of building up loads of packs in Ultimate Team right now.

SBCs & Objectives

Firstly, it's important to complete any objectives and SBCs that offer good pack rewards, such as the 85+ Three Player Pack that was released recently.

You can stay up to date with all the latest SBCs that are currently available in Ultimate Team right here.

The Silver Beasts objective which is released weekly can be completed whilst unlocking Icon Swap tokens and provides you with a 50k pack.

Icon Swaps

Icon Swaps 1 provides a great opportunity to unlock some of the biggest and best all-player packs in Ultimate Team.

The following pack rewards are available to unlock during Icon Swaps 1:

• 2 Tokens - 81+ 25 Player Pack
• 3 Tokens - 82+ 25 Player Pack
• 5 Tokens - 83+ 25 Player Pack

You simply MUST take advantage of these packs and save them for when the TOTY players are in packs, as this might just be your best chance of packing one!

FUT Draft

Playing FUT Drafts is one of the easiest ways to build up your packs ahead of the Team of the Year promo.

Entering into a FUT Draft costs 15,000 coins or 300 FIFA Points.

FUT Draft is actually very enjoyable at the moment with all promo players and Prime Icons currently available to pull.

Having said this, the FUT Draft method relies on your ability as a FIFA player more than anything, as the further you progress through the rounds, the better pack rewards you will receive.

League SBC Grind

League SBCs are challenges that EA drops every year within Ultimate Team.

For every team that you submit, you receive some pack reward, whilst you also receive a group reward once you complete the entire SBC.

The group reward is always a better pack compared to the subsections within the SBC.

League SBCs are repeatable in FIFA 22, which means you can grind these constantly!
