The Shapeshifters promo has taken over from Team of the Season in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, bringing a whole crop of brilliant new players to the game.
Player position changes are the main theme of the event, which can throw up some whacky new cards, with more set to arrive in Team 4.

Daniel James is now confirmed to gain a Shapeshifters card via objectives, and we've got details on how you can unlock him for your squad.
Juiced James
As has become relatively standard, FUT Sheriff leaked ahead of time that Daniel James would have a new card coming in objectives.
Our initial thought for his card in FUT Shapeshifters was moving him from a RW to a ST, however, one leaker stated it would be RB which did ring true.
That will give a great link to the EOAE Gareth Bale card which was recently released!

Start Date: Friday, 8 July at 6pm BST
Expiry Date: Friday, 15 July at 6pm BST
Objective Requirements
Fortunately, the challenges you're up against for this card are very approachable in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.
There are four in total, and all will take place in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape as has been standard for the Shapeshifters promo.
The requirements are as follows:
- Class Finish: Score 5 Finesse goals using Midfielder in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape
- Premier League Curve: Assist 5 goals using Crosses with at least 3 Premier League players in your starting squad in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape
- Win 6: Win 6 matches in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape
- Rapid Welshman: Score in 4 separate matches using a player with min. 90 Pace in the Live FUT Friendly: Shifting Shape
Once you've finished these you'll receive a few packs along with the new FUT Shapeshifters Daniel James player item.
Shapeshifters
The Shapeshifters promo was first seen in FIFA 20, although it didn't reappear in FIFA 21, so we already knew what sort of mechanics to expect.
As always, the promo players will receive massive boosts, but they will also have their cards transformed, with changes coming to player positions, work rates, weak foot ability, and updated attributes to better suit their new position.
Three squads have already been released into packs, with a couple of objective players made available with each side, as well as a few SBCs coming throughout the campaign.
Shapeshifters had two squad releases in FIFA 20, and EA has matched and exceeded that, with leaks saying it will become a bumper four-week event with Team 4 coming soon!
