Chelsea new boy Lukaku could be the first confirmed OTW in FUT 22

Chelsea look like a force to be reckoned with this season, especially in FIFA 22.

The European champions are tough to beat under Thomas Tuchel, and have now strengthened their attack by bringing Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge.

It looks like the Blues have dropped a major clue as to FIFA 22 Ultimate Team too during their announcements of Lukaku.

Romelu returns

With over 100 goals in the Premier League already, Romelu Lukaku is a proven goalscorer at the highest level.

Lukaku returns to South London having helped Inter to the Serie A title, and he scored 47 goals across two seasons in Italy.

With a point to prove, we are expecting Lukaku to spearhead Chelsea's attack as they push for Premier League glory.

With Lukaku's physical presence and finishing, coupled with the pace of Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic, we wouldn't put it past Chelsea being right up the top come the end of the season.

Ones to Watch

Ones to Watch cards have featured in the past couple of Ultimate Team seasons, and it looks as though they will be the first set of special cards on the new game.

The cards included are selected from the top summer transfers and are given dynamic ratings that increase with every selection in Team of the Week.

We have seen loads of top-class players on the move this summer, with PSG especially active bringing in Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos among others.

Barcelona new boys Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero could also feature, but it is one of the Premier League's biggest signings we have our eyes on...

Lukaku confirmed?

Is the first FIFA 22 Ones to Watch player confirmed for FUT 22? The hashtags on Chelsea's Instagram page certainly suggest that Romelu Lukaku will be involved in the early season promo.

Last year we saw Timo Werner as the first OTW card confirmed, so it could be two in two seasons for the Blues.

With a free Ones to Watch card on offer for those who have pre-ordered the game, Lukaku would certainly prove a popular pick among FUT fans.

While this is by no means official confirmation of Lukaku's place in the event it is a strong hint that it will happen, and we could see a reveal sooner rather than later!
