WWE 2K23 Universe Mode
Universe Mode has been a mainstay in WWE gaming for some time, with the mode initially acting as a more hands-on version of GM mode.
GM Mode returned in WWE 2K22 and some fans had been worrying that its return would mean the removal of Universe Mode.
Thankfully, that isn't the case, and Universe Mode will once again return in WWE 2K23.
As of yet, we've received limited details on any new features that will appear in this mode, which has been a source of frustration for many players.
With the release of WWE 2K23 closing in, we don't think it will be long before new details are released.
New Features Revealed
A new momentum resource will be added to WWE 2K23, allowing players to gain momentum as they progress through their rivalries.
Momentum will be distributed depending on match performance and results, with the victorious superstar set to win more of the resource.
This momentum can then be used to perform different rival actions heading into matches.
This could range anything from a sneak attack to a full-on backstage brawl, all of which can now be performed thanks to this new momentum system.
Cashing in this resource should therefore trigger cut-scenes in a more authentic way, giving your Universe Mode a far more cinematic feel.
Your momentum points can also be used to determine the outcome of matches if you choose to simulate them.
MyGM will not mark the end for this full control experience
While plenty of the WWE 2K22 pointed towards the revival of GM Mode in MyGM, that doesn't mean Universe Mode is going anywhere.
On the contrary, this fully immersive "God Mode" as developers have called it will return in WWE 2K23, and players will once again have full control over their shows.
As it has been in previous years, Universe Mode allows players to build a brand or full company of shows from scratch with control over every aspect of the game.
