PS5 Loud Spinning Disc Issue Fixed

This week has seen the first PS5 system software update released, adding the ability to share play across generations and store games on external hard drives.

Today, some more news on the update has been revealed. Below, we'll run you through all the PS5 news for April 15 and look at where you might be able to buy a console if you're still looking for one.

Loud Spinning Disc Issue Fixed

One of the unexpected bonuses of the PS5 system software update that's arrived this week is that the loud spinning disc issue has reportedly been fixed.

For many, their PS5 console would loudly spin the disc for a few seconds even when it wasn't being used.

Reddit users are now reporting that it's no longer happening, with their console now being quiet at all times.

It's nice that something annoying but not damaging in any way was fixed as part of the new update.

Console Stock Updates

UK

Unfortunately, the news on PS5 stock is the same as it has been for the last couple of days - a PS5 console is going to be very tough to get in the UK in April.

There might be some available in-store depending on your location, but on the whole it isn't looking like it will be easy to get your hands on a console.

GAME, which was rumoured to be getting stock soon, has updated their site to reflect the fact that they won't be getting any stock until May 27th!

If we hear about anywhere else getting stock, we'll be sure to let you know.

USA

The PS5 console drops in the US have become harder to track, with some retailers dropping them out of nowhere.

For example, yesterday, Gamestop had consoles up for sale online, without much of a warning.

Today, no other retailers are known to be dropping stock, but we'll keep our ears to the ground and let you know if we hear anything.

Games Releases Today

There are actually no games releasing on PS5 today, but you can get early access to MLB The Show 21 from tomorrow, before it releases next week.
