IT'S ALMOST TIME: After weeks of anticipation, we're almost there

With big expectations already at their feet, Sony San Diego announced that the cover reveal will take place on Monday, January 31, 2022.

This is the exact reveal date we'd predicted months ago, as it lines right up with the Monday, February 1, 2021 reveal they used for MLB The Show 21.

The announcement will be made live from Times Square on a livestream which begins at 8:35am PT / 11:35am ET, but the reveal itself will take place moments before 9am PT / Noon ET.

The stream will be live on Sony San Diego's Twitch and YouTube channels as well as TheShow.com, but there are still big question as to who the reveal might be.

Who will be on the cover of MLB The Show 22?

That's the $22 million question, right? There are several big names who could make a valid case to be on the cover of MLB The Show 22, but one stands above the rest.

Shohei Ohtani had an absolutely historic season, and there's no denying that right now he is the world's biggest star in the entire sport of baseball.

MAKING HISTORY: Ohtani is already creating a legendary career

It seems like a no-brainer to put Ohtani on the cover, but that doesn't mean there aren't other options. Vladimir Guerrero Jr of the Toronto Blue Jays had his own epic year winning the Silver Slugger Award and ending the season as the MLB Home Run Leader.

Jorge Soler is another solid option, as he put on a strong performance in the World Series, but at this point we just have to wait a little bit longer and we'll get the official MLB The Show 22 news.
