Sumeru is finally here, the Genshin Impact 3.0 is just hours away. The major update will bring tons of new content to the game.
But before players get their hands on all the new stuff, Genshin Impact servers will go down for maintenance downtime before the new patch goes live.
Here is everything players need to know about the Genshin Impact 3.0 maintenance schedule including server status, compensation Primogems the latest news.
Server Maintenance Schedule
Genshin Impact servers will go under maintenance on August 24, 2022, at 6 am server time (Chinese Standard Time).
In other time zones, Genshin Impact servers will go down at:
- August 23, 2022, 3:00 pm PST
- August 23, 2022, 6:00 pm EST
- August 23, 2022, 11:00 pm GMT
Servers will be down for around 5 hours, and players will receive compensatory Primogems for the time they cannot play the game.

Free Primogems for Genshin Impact Server Maintenance
Travelers will receive 60 Primogems for each hour the servers are not available. However, if the game is back online before the 5 hours scheduled. Players will still obtain a minimum of 300 Primogems.
Additionally, miHoYo gives 300 Primogems compensation for all the bug fixes found in the previous update. So, travelers who log in to the game after the maintenance will receive 600 Primogems, almost 4 wishes.
Free Primogems will be delivered to each player by in-game email. In addition, if the maintenance takes more than 5 hours, an extra 60 Primogems for each hour of delay will be added.
Genshin Impact 3.0 Preload Available Now
Genshin Impact players can start preloading the next update. The ver. 3.0 file size is around 3.75 Gb for Android and IOS and around 11 Gb for PC players.
PC users can continue playing while they are downloading files, on mobile devices they have to wait for files to download. Unfortunately, there is no preload option for Playstation Players.
Genshin Impact 3.0 Banners
The first phase will feature one debut and the rerun of two 5-star character
- Viridescent Vigil will feature Tighnari - a 5-star Dendro Bow Character.
- Gentry of Hermitage will feature the rerun of Zhonglu – a 5-star Dendro Polearm Character.
The following 4-stars characters complete the banner.
The first weapon banner will feature one spear and the new 5-star bow.
- Hunter's Path 5-star bow, the signature weapon of Tighnari
- Vortex Vanquisher 5-star polearm is a very niche weapon used in teams with Geo Resonance.
Second Phase
For the second phase of Genshin Impact 3.0, we will receive two reruns, Kokomi and Ganyu. Additionally, the banner will introduce the new 4-star character Dori.
The Second Weapon Banner will feature the Amos' Bow & the Engulfing Lighting. More details will be revealed in the following weeks.
Genshin Impact 3.0 Events
We will start a new Chapter of the Archon Story: Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana with not one but two Archon Quests.
- Chapter 1: Through Mists of Smoke and Forest Dark
- Chapter 2: The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings.
The beginning of the Travelers journey to meet with the Dendro Archon. Sumeru will complete the 7 pieces puzzle of Elemental Reactions.
Genshin Impact 3.0 will introduce four new characters. The Dendro traveler, Collei, Tighnari, and Dori.
