We have finally received news from Hoyoverse regarding the Genshin Impact 2.7 delay and a compensation plan that we think will keep most of the community happy, one that includes free Primogems and plenty more.

Beyond the compensation, Genshin Impact 2.6 will also be extended for at least four more weeks and given a third phase with new events to tide travelers over.

Let's dive into what Hoyoverse has in plan for the future of Genshin Impact 2.6, and the expectations of Genshin Impact 2.7.

Genshin Impact Third Phase

The Genshin Impact 2.6 third phase will start on May 14, 2022, releasing trials for the Characters Banners and the Spices from the West event.

For the third phase of Genshin Impact, players will have the chance to continue pulling from The Heron's Court Banner that features Ayaka and the following 4-star characters:

  • Rosaria- 4-star Cryo, Polearm User
  • Sayu - 4-star Anemo, Claymore User
  • Razor - 4-star Electro, Claymore User.

During some hours, Ayaka banner was showing a countdown of 240 days.

The Weapon Banner of Mistsplitter Reforged and The Unforged will also be extended indefinitely which means more opportunities for interested players to catch up.

New Events

The Genshin Impact 2.6 Third Phase will introduce two new events:

  • Spices from The West:
    • A particular lady from Sumeru arrives in Liyue looking for new spices to experiment with.
    • After learning about new spices, players can invite characters to the Serenitea Pot to try Fragrance Dishes.
  • Overflowing Mastery
    • Players can obtain the double Talent Materials in the Domain of Mastery in the three regions: Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma.

Compensation: Free Primogems & more

Hoyoverse also announced they would issue compensation to travelers weekly for the Genshin Impact 2.7 delays.

Starting on May 11, 2022, players will receive in their in-game mail every Wednesday the following freebies:

  • 400 Primogems
  • 1 Fragile Resin
  • 7 Hero's Wit
  • 16 Mystic Enhancement Ore
  • 120K Mora

These rewards will last 30 days, so make sure to claim them in time!

New Release Date

Based on the duration of the events and the compensation, we can speculate that the delay will take longer than anticipated. Probably more than a month, running to at least mid-June.

Depending on how long we will have to wait for Genshin Impact 2.7, Hoyoverse could very well add more new content to the extended 2.6 update, though that remains to be seen over the coming weeks.
