What is the Best Sayu Build in Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact's littlest ninja packs a powerful punch in a very tiny package.

Do not tell her that, though, as Sayu is sensitive about her height.

In fact, she has trained hard in her ninjitsu to be as effective as possible in as little time as possible so she can sleep more, something she believes will help her grow taller.

While that logic is questionable, her skills are not.

Sayu is an A-Tier Sub-DPS that offers strong offensive skills with a bit of healing ability.

ARTIFACTS: Go green with Sayu

Sayu can go one of two ways with Artifacts.

The first, and arguably the best direction to take is to use a 4-Piece Viridescent Venerer set.

This offers Sayu:

  • 2-Piece Viridescent Venerer
    • Gain a 15% Anemo DMG Bonus
  • 4-Piece Viridescent Venerer
    • Increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent's Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s

Of course, Viridescent Venerer is one of the harder sets to obtain pieces for, so players can also go with a 4-Piece Noblesse Oblige set as well.

  • 2-Piece Noblesse Oblige
    • Elemental Burst DMG +20%
  • 4-Piece Noblesse Oblige
    • Using an Elemental Burst increase all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.

Players should look for pieces of either set with ATK%, Anemo DMG, and more ATK%.

STAPLE: A staple Claymore

While many new characters seem to favor using new weapons released in Genshin Impact 2.0, Sayu excels with a Wolf's Gravestone.

At Level 1, it has the following stats:

  • Whj9Base ATK: 46
  • Secondary Stat Type: ATK
  • Secondary Stat: 10.8%
  • Ability: Wolfish Tracker- Increases ATK by 20%. On hit, attacks against opponents with less than 30% HP increase all party members' ATK by 40% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.

When refined to Level 5, Wolfish Tracker ATK buffs rise to 40% and 80%.

At Level 90, Wolf's Gravestone's stats are:

  • Base ATK: 608
  • Secondary Stat Type: CRIT DMG
  • Secondary Stat: 49.6%

Unfortunately, like many great weapons, Wolf's Gravetone is a 5-Star Claymore that can only be obtained via the Genshin Impact Wish system.

Sayu's next best weapon, the 4-Star Serpent Spine, can only be obtained by reaching Level 30 on a paid Battle Pass.

At Level 1, Serpent Spine has the following stats:

  • Base ATK: 42
  • Secondary Stat Type: CRIT Rate
  • Secondary Stat: 6%
  • Ability: Wavesplitter - Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 6% more DMG and take 3% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG.

When refined to Level 5, Wavesplitter's bonuses increase to 10% DMG while the DMG players take reduces to 2%.

When Serpent Spineis Level 90, its stats are:

  • Base ATK: 510

MONA: The power of the Stars

For a 4-Star Character, Sayu works best with an expensive team.

Ganyu performs the role of Main DPS in a team consisting of:

  • Sayu: Anemo Support / Healing
  • Mona: Elemental Reactions
  • Venti: Crowd Control

For free-to-play players, swap:

  • Yanfei for Ganyu
  • Xingqiu for Mona
  • Sucrose for Venti

This party will give you similar results as the first party, with a slightly different dynamic.

      • Increases the HP restored by the Muji-Muji Daruma by 3. A maximum of 6,000 additional HP can be restored in this manner.

Any Constellation that ups the max level of talent is good, but Sayu's best Constellations are her second and sixth.

Thankfully, being a 4-Star character, it should be much easier to gain constellations than it would for many 5-Star characters.

That is a good thing, since the more powerful Sayu becomes, the more sleep she can get.

Hopefully, that will make her taller as she desires.

Most players probably would not have the heart to tell her that is not how it works.
