How to Tame a Boar in Fortnite

Surprisingly arriving a couple of days early, the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 Week 2 challenges are now live.

One of the challenges asks you to tame a boar. That's why we're here with a guide on how to do exactly that.

How to Tame a Boar in Fortnite

The boar is one of the animals that was added to Fortnite at the start of Season 6. You can kill them for materials or tame them to fight alongside you.

If you're just looking to tame one just to complete the challenge, there's two tactics you can employ.

How to Find Boars

There's no sure fire way to find boars in Fortnite.

They travel alone and can be found pretty much anywhere that's not the middle of towns or big named locations.

Land somewhere quiet, look around, and try and spot one. Don't get too close though.

Taming With Fruit & Vegetables

Your first option is to find a piece of fruit or some vegetables, which you'll find easily in Holly Hedges.

You'll be able to "Gather" vegetables from various flower beds across the named location, but you'll also likely find pieces of fruit scattered around the world.

With some in hand, head to somewhere you've found a boar and throw the fruit or veg near it.

You'll have to be close when you do so because the boar will eat what you threw quickly.

While the boar is eating, you can hold square if you're on PlayStation, Y on Switch, or X on Xbox to tame it.

You'll have to be quick, otherwise the boar will notice you and run away.

Hunter's Cloak

If you're wearing a Hunter's Cloak, which is a new craftable item in Fortnite Season 6, wild animals across the map will be unaware of your presence for 10 seconds.

That allows you to get close without them running away or attacking you, so they're particularly useful when faced with boars to tame.

You'll be able to creep up to a boar while they're just wandering around and tame them easily.

To craft one, you'll need to hunt two animals and collect the Meat and Bones that they drop.

Then, click your inventory button and go along to crafting. Now, hover over the Meat icon and you'll see the option to craft the Hunter's Cloak.

With it, head to a boar and you'll be able to tame it nice and easily to complete the Season 6 Week 2 challenge.
