Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is nearly over, with just a few days left to go before the new season begins.
Here is what we know so far about Fortnite Season 6.
Batman Will Be A Focal Point
The upcoming season will see Batman enter the Zero Point loop and be transported to the Fortnite island again.
He was previously in the game during Season X in 2019.
Only this time he has lost his memory and needs to figure out how to return home.
While nothing is confirmed yet, it is possible that we will see the return of Gotham City to the game, as well as possibly see Batman as a Mythic boss with his Batarang and Grapnel Gun return.
This will all be tied into the new Fortnite x Batman Zero Point comic book series.
Comic Book Series
Starting in April 2021, there will be a six-part comic book series that will tell the story of Batman coming to the Fortnite island, trying to figure out how to get home, and also discover exactly how the Fortnite island works and the Zero Point loop.
The issues will be released every two weeks and will end in July 2021.
Cosmetics will be given away with the comics including a new Batman and Harley Quinn skin.
Less Collaborations Overall
Despite Batman being a large focal point of the season, there should be fewer collaborations overall.
Chapter 2 Season 4 was entirely Marvel themed, with a Marvel Battle Pass, various skins, tournaments, and end of season event.
Season 5 saw Jonesy bring Hunters to the game from many franchises.
Fortnite has become one large advertisement for brands at this point.
It is believed that this will be scaled back in Season 6, instead, it will just focusing on the story with Batman and the comic book series.
Zero Crisis Finale Event
To conclude Season 5, and also usher in Season 6, there will be the Zero Crisis Finale event.
This event will be a mandatory event, players will need to take part before they can play in Season 6.
It will go live with the Season 6 update, rather than being a live event the weekend before the new season.
This indicates that the event will have massive implications and will set up the story for the next season.
The event will also be watchable on the Fortnite YouTube channel, we predict it will be on Monday, March 15th.
But players will still need to play it once the Season 6 update goes lives on March 16th.
Every season Arena points are reset, setting all players back to Division 1 in the competitive mode.
This season will be different and will instead see all players keep their Arena points for a short time.
The new meta will be implemented with the Season 6 update and Epic Games will ask for player feedback, likely from the high ranking competitive players.
This will allow them to make any adjustments before resetting them.
It is an interesting move that could show that they are looking to take competitive more seriously and establishment the game as a top tier eSports game.
