FIFA 23: What are 'Rulebreakers' cards & how do they work?

FIFA 23 is here and the Ultimate Team content is coming thick and fast now.

The Ones to Watch (OTW) promo has passed and it's now the turn of the annual Road to the Knockouts (RTTK) campaign to take centre stage.

According to reports, the Rulebreakers event is set to make a return and will be the next promo to arrive in Ultimate Team.

Rulebreakers cards will operate in a slightly different way from the previous promo cards we have seen in FUT 23. So, find out exactly how they work below.

Rulebreakers cards explained

Unlike the dynamic items that were released during the OTW and RTTK campaigns recently, Rulebreaker cards will be given one majorly boosted card upon release.

Rulebreakers was a new promotional event that arrived back in FIFA 21, replacing the Ultimate Scream event.

The Rulebreakers promo focuses on a number of fan favourite cards, swapping stats around and giving boosted key stats to a level that wouldn't be usually seen through regular performance-based upgrades.

The Rulebreakers event often takes slower players that don’t fit the meta and give them huge pace upgrades in order to make them overpowered.

Release Date

The release date for the Rulebreakers promo has not yet been confirmed.

This year's Halloween event could commence on Friday, 14 October or Friday, 21 October, depending on how long the RTTK campaign runs.

The Rulebreakers cards will be released into packs at approximately 1pm ET / 6pm BST on the day of release.
