It's nearly time for an annual celebration in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, with the return of the FUT Birthday promo!
Fan favourites with big boosts will come to the game, with the cards a yearly release in recognition of the inception of FUT - and this could be the best promo EVER!

FUT Birthday
FUT Birthday is a returning promo, which celebrates the anniversary of FIFA Ultimate Team.
Each year the event sees fan favourite players given enormous boosts, with cards released into packs, via SBCs, and Objectives.
The cards released usually have boosts to skill moves and weak foot ability as well as the regular attributes, so it offers plenty of new and exciting options.
Last year a Token Swaps system accompanied the event, something that is becoming more and more regular in FUT these days, so we weren't surprised to see it return this time!
FUT Birthday Release Date
After plenty of confusion and then the release of the FUT Ballers promo, FUT Birthday is now confirmed to land on Friday, 24 March at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.
It initially looked like it would drop a lot sooner, however, this date makes much more sense, as historically it has always come in mid-March to match the original release of FUT on Thursday, 19 March 2009.
FUT Birthday COUNTDOWN
The promo will run for two weeks, with Mini-Releases expected to come for the Team 1 and Team 2 squads.
A Token Swaps campaign is also accompanying the event, with the first ones released on Monday, 20 March and the corresponding SBCs going live on Monday, 27 March.

Latest Loading Screen
As we draw closer to FUT Birthday hitting packs in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, the loading screen teases us with upcoming cards.
The latest one shows us some details from a FUT Birthday Icon and Team 1 player.
Obviously, there is only one man the Icon can be, with George Best set to come during the promo.
We would assume that the Chelsea CF is Joao Felix, however, his Winter Wildcards item had 90 PAC and we would expect another special card to increase that, which could mean Kai Havertz will be upgraded.
FUT Birthday Icons
FUT Birthday is shaping up to be one of the greatest promos we've ever seen in Ultimate Team!
Already a fan-favourite event, it has been boosted by including a Swaps Token system, and it is about to become supersized with the new addition of FUT Birthday Icons!
Shortly after the initial loading screen was released on Monday, 20 March, an updated one appeared with a FUT Birthday Icon card added.
We have no idea who will feature just yet but expect to see some of the best cards in the game drop during the promo.

Predictions
Pretty much any player could feature in the FUT Birthday promo, so it's hard to nail down any sure things.
However, here are some names we would love to see pick up a card:

Swaps System
As with last year, a Token Swaps system will accompany the FUT Birthday event!
The Swaps campaign will work just like previous events, where you gain Tokens from Objectives, SBCs and the FUT Store, then trade them in via corresponding SBCs to unlock awesome rewards.
The rewards will be revealed in-game on Monday, 27 March when the SBCs are able to be redeemed, with EA already confirming two of the rewards will be:
- 3 Tokens: 1 x FUT Birthday Team 1 Pack
- 10 Tokens: 1 x 85+ x10 Players Pack
You can earn 30 Swaps Tokens in-game, as well as additional bonus ones through the FUT Store.

FUT Birthday Leaks
The FUT Birthday player leaks are starting to come in, with an SBC for a Spanish wonderkid the first one revealed.
We've had an enormous amount of Spanish CM promo cards in FUT 23, and that will be added to when Pedri is released!
As usual, it is Fut Sheriff who revealed the youngster is on the way, and he is predicting a mammoth 92-rated version!
The Fut Scoreboard Twitter account is branching out into full-blown leaks, with a mocked-up card created for FUT Birthday Icon Eric Cantona.
It looks like you will be able to unlock a loan version of his item in the Moments mode, giving you the chance to try out his card even if you don't manage to hit it in packs!
