FIFA 22 RTTF: Chelsea star gets GIANT upgrade after UCL success

With the European competitions' Round of 16 coming to an end, several Road to the Final (RTTF) cards are due to receive upgrades in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

The latest set of EUFA Champions League results means the upgrades of three cards have now been determined in FUT 22, with one HUGE card missing out on a boost.

Kai Havertz (OVR 90 - OVR 91)

Thanks to a 2-1 win away from home, 2021 Champions League winners Chelsea have officially advanced through to the quarter-finals.

This means that Kai Havertz's Road to the Final item receives a further +1 OVR on top of his boost last week and joins the 90 club in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

Renato Sanches (ELIMINATED)

Unfortunately for Renato Sanches RTTF owners, Lille failed to win the first match after the campaign launch and did not advance through to the UCL quarter-finals.

This means that the Portuguese centre-mid remains as an 87 OVR card but is still one of the best box-to-box CMs in the game.

Juan Cuadrado (ELIMINATED)

To the shock of many fans, Juventus were comfortably beaten by Villareal 3-0 at the Allianz Stadium in the second leg of the EUFA Champions League Round of 16.

This means that Juan Cuadrado will receive NO upgrades and remains as an 87 OVR, after drawing 1-1 in the first leg too.

RTTF upgrades explained

All Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference Road to the Final items start with an upgrade at the launch of the event.

From there, the player’s Road To The Final item receives a further upgrade each time their team succeeds at select stages throughout the tournament, as you can see in the image below.

The Road to the Final cards will be upgraded when a player's team:

• Wins 1st knockout game after campaign launch.
• Qualifies for Quarter-Finals.
• Qualifies for Semi-Finals.
• Qualifies for the Final.
• Wins the Final.

Road to the Final players do not need to be selected or have played in each stage to receive an upgrade.

If a player is no longer on the roster of a club in either tournament, they will not receive any further upgrades.

Likewise, if a player’s team gets knocked out of either tournament, they will no longer receive any upgrades.

Once a certain round of the competition is over, Road To The Final items could take up to a few days to update in-game.
