FIFA 22: Spanish title holders PUNISHED in latest Ratings Update

The latest FIFA 22 ratings update has now gone live, and EA is in a punishing mood this week, with many more notable downgrades than upgrades.

We've compiled all the main upgrades and downgrades that are now live in the latest version of the FIFA 22 squads below.

Upgrades

The following players have seen their overall rating upgraded in the FIFA 22 database.

Luka Modric (OVR 87 - OVR 88)

Still going strong at 36 years old, nothing seems to be able to slow down Luka Modric.

The only change in attribute saw his Long Passing increase from 89 to 90, with his overall now at a rating of 88.

If you want to see if this man still has it, take a look at his stunning assist for Rodrygo, which helped Real Madrid beat Chelsea and make it to the Champions League semi-finals.

Diogo Jota (OVR 84 - OVR 85)

Many thought the Firmino, Mane and Salah front three could not be broken into, but it is a testament to Diogo Jota that he has done just that (as has other Liverpool new boy Luis Diaz).

He has been red hot since joining the side, and even if he isn't a starter still manages to find a goal.

Now at 85 OVR, he is establishing himself as one of the best forwards in the game.

Ferran Torres (OVR 82 - OVR 83)

Barcelona was looking in a crisis at the start of the season, but a new manager, new players and a fine run of form have turned things around for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Ferran Torres is another new signing that has hit the ground running, bagging seven goals and providing five assists since joining the club in January.

Other notable upgraded players include:

  • Alessandro Bastoni (OVR 82 - OVR 83)
  • Jose Sa (OVR 80 - OVR 81)
  • Eric Dier (OVR 80 - OVR 81)
  • Josko Gvardiol (OVR 78 - OVR 79)
  • Gavi (OVR 76 - OVR 77)

Downgrades

The latest Ratings Update dished out many downgrades, with these selected names the biggest of the bunch.

Jan Oblak (OVR 90 - OVR 89)

Atletico Madrid's title defence hasn't gone to plan, with the side now scrapping to get Champions League football next season.

Their usually solid defence hasn't been as impenetrable as usual this season, with 38 against them the most of any side in the top eight of the table.

Jan Oblak suffers another downgrade from his initial 91 OVR, now at 89 OVR, with only nine clean sheets so far in the league and a poor save percentage of 57%, compared to his usual 76%.

Luis Suarez (OVR 87 - OVR 86)

Another Atleti man, another who has -2 from his initial rating, at 35, Luis Suarez is in the twilight of his career and it's starting to show.

He can still turn it on when he needs to, with 13 goals this season, however, lack of game time and slowing legs mean his 87 OVR is just a bit too high.

Other notable downgraded players include:

  • Stefan de Vrij (OVR 85 - OVR 84)
  • David Silva (OVR 85 - OVR 84)
  • Lautaro Martinez (OVR 85 - OVR 84)
  • Raphael Guerreiro (OVR 84 - OVR 83)
  • Nick Pope (OVR 82 - OVR 81)
  • Jordan Pickford (OVR 82 - OVR 81)
  • Portu (OVR 81 - OVR 80)
  • Wout Weghorst (OVR 81 - OVR 80)
  • Donny van de Beek (OVR 80 - OVR 79)
  • Dele Alli (OVR 79 - OVR 78)
