Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone: Reveal trailer and more details released

Following a minor delay, EA DICE has been criticised by a lot of fans for their lack of communication when it comes to Battlefield 2042 and its development. We now have seen the full reveal, so here's everything you need to know about Battlefield 2042's Hazard Zone.

Latest - Hazard Zone Reveal Trailer Released

Although some rejoiced at the idea of a battle royale mode being left out of Battlefield 2042's plans, it is still on the way and we've not had our first real look at the mode.

It's not much more than confirmation that it is indeed a battle royale mode, but it looks pretty exciting.

Beyond the brand new trailer, DICE released a page with all the details on what's in the mode. Below is their official description of Hazard Zone.

Inserted as a four-member squad, you must locate and retrieve critical Data Drives scattered throughout the battlefield, while fighting opposing squads with the same objective and Occupying Forces. Succeed by gathering the Data Drives and choosing when to extract before a storm overtakes the area in this high-stakes, one-life experience. Every bullet, every skirmish, and every decision counts.

Certain maps will have compatibility for Hazard Zone built-in and Orbital appears to be the first one confirmed. There will not be any Hazard Zone specific maps, with Hazard Zone taking place on each of Battlefield 2042's seven main maps.

The breakdown also reveals that Battlefield 2042's Hazard Zone isn't a battle royale exactly.

"You and your squad insert with one mission – securing the capsules and retrieving the Data Drives inside. Watch out for rival squads with the same objective and Occupying Forces who will guard the contents with their lives."

The above quote outlines what you need to do in the mode - and it's clear that being the last team standing isn't the objective.
