WoW Shadowlands Locations

With World of Warcraft's next expansion, Dragonflight, on the horizon, returning players will want to get up to speed as they will be looking to get the most done during Dragonflight's pre-patch prior to the expansion's release. Knowing the important locations in Shadowlands comes in handy for that.

Seeing as the first phase of the Dragonflight pre-patch is well underway and its phase two follows shortly after, players looking to get their characters set up will want to know the key locations to go in order to do so.

Here are all of the important locations and spots in Shadowlands that returning players will want to know.

All of the important locations in WoW Shadowlands

Like any other expansion, there are key locations or spots for players. From the main city, all the way to the locations of the corresponding raids, knowing where each is located simplifies the pre-expansion gearing and prep process.

Here's a list of all of the important locations in WoW Shadowlands.

Main City - Oribos, the Eternal City

Oribos, like Shattarth and Dalaran before it, is the expansion's Major City—it has all of your needs. Here, players can train their Professions, buy PvP gear, access the Great Vault, and more.

MAJOR HUB: Oribos is Shadowlands Main City

It's located smack dab in the center of the Shadowlands, between the four major zones. Players who haven't accessed it yet can do so by beginning the Shadowlands expansion storyline in Orgrimmar with Bolvar Fordragon. If they already have access, they can a portal in their faction's respective Major Cities, the Wizard's Sanctum in Stormwind for Alliance, or the Pathfinder's Den in Orgrimmar for Horde.

Covenant Sanctums - Kyrian, Necrolord, Night Fae, Venthyr

Covenants are Shadowlands' borrowed power. Similar to Order Halls in Legion, they each have their own home base or Sanctum where players can visit the quartermaster, tweak their Soulbinds, deposit their Anima, and more.

BORROWED POWER: Covenants are Shadowlands' extra power

Once introduced to the Shadowlands expansion, players choose their Covenant of choice in Oribos, which, in turn, will get them to the Covenant's Sanctum.

Kyrian Covenant

Placed in the realm of Bastion, the Kyrian Covenant's Sanctum, Elysian Hold, is found towards the upper right corner of the zone, floating separately. Getting there the first time can be quite difficult, however, once that's out of the way, players can use a flight path or the Kyrian Gateway.

In order to get there for the first time, you will have to complete the "Among The Kyrian" quest. After completing it, you'll have easier access to the Sanctum.

Necrolord Covenant

Located in the realm of Maldraxxus, the Necrolord Covenant's Sanctum, the Seat of the Primus, sits in the bottom middle of the zone. Getting to it is quite easy as you can either travel via mount or complete the "Taking The Seat" quest which will take you there.

Night Fae Covenant

As a part of Ardenweald, the Night Fae Covenant's Sanctum, the Heart of the Forest, as its name suggests, sits in the middle of the zone.

After choosing the Night Fae Covenant, just accept the "The Heart of the Forest" quest, visit the flight master in Oribos and choose Refugee Camp. You'll be escorted into the Heart of the Forest.

Venthyr Covenant

Hiding away in, the Venthy Covenant's Sanctum, Sinfall, lies under the zone of Revendreth.

It's a bit more difficult to enter, however, like the Night Fae, once you've chosen to go with the Venthyr, you'll get a quest that takes you to the Sanctum. This quest, "Sinfall" flies you directly into the location and automatically gives you the flight path.

Zereth Mortis and Korthia

Zereth Mortis and Korthia were both introduced in their respective updates, patches 9.1 and 9.2. Like any other update, these zones served to bring dailies, rares, and the new raids' location.

Zereth Mortis

In order to get to Zereth Mortis, you'll have completed the first two Chapters of your Covenant campaign. After that, you'll pick up "The First Move" quest which will begin the Chains of Domination (9.1) campaign. Complete the first two chapters of that campaign and you'll have access to it. After gaining that access, you can revisit Zereth Mortis by going to the next level of Oribos and going through the portal located in the top middle of the map.

Korthia

When it comes to Korthia, you'll take the steps you did for Zereth Mortis. Complete the first couple of Chapters of the Chains of Domination (9.1) campaign and that's it.

After you've unlocked it, you can re-access the zone by visiting the portal to the upper left-hand corner of Oribos' second floor on the map.
