Will LeBron James be in the NBA Playoffs 2022?

The 2022 NBA Playoffs are just around the corner, giving the biggest and best players in the competition the opportunity to prove their worth against the best in the business.

LeBron James is widely regarded as one of, if not the greatest, to ever play in the NBA. But after a poor showing by the Los Angeles Lakers so far this season, could we be set for a postseason without LeBron for only the second time in his NBA career?

Will LeBron James play in the 2022 NBA Playoffs

It's official, despite being one of the leading point scorers in the competition, LeBron James will not play in the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

LeBron has averaged a Western Conference high 30.3 points per game throughout the regular season so far, a figure bettered only by MVP contender Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers.

But despite the best efforts of the 37-year-old, inconsistency on the defence has led to the Lakers slipping to a 31-48 record, one which means it is now mathematically impossible for the 2020 NBA Champions to qualify for the NBA Play-In.

When do the 2022 NBA Playoffs begin?

The NBA Playoffs will begin next week, following the conclusion of the regular season and the NBA Play-In tournament.

This year's Play-In will begin on Tuesday, April 12th and will conclude on Friday, April 15th.

There won't be long to wait before the beginning of the NBA Playoffs, as the first match of this year's elimination stage will tip off the following day, on Saturday, April 16th.

For Lakers fans, attention now turns to the 2022 NBA Draft Lottery, in which they will be hoping to upset the odds and be awarded the number one pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
