PlayStation Plus Video Pass being tested in Poland

Today has been a big day in the world of PlayStation, with news coming from everywhere.

We're here with a round up of the biggest news, a run down of the new releases, and an update on where you could find a new console this week.

PS Plus Video Pass Test

After leaking yesterday, it has been confirmed that PlayStation Plus Video Pass is real, although it's only being tested in Poland for now.

It will give subscribers "access to over 20 movies/TV shows from Sony Pictures," with more being added every few months.

It hasn't been confirmed for any other region, nor do we know much about the new service add-on, but it's possible that'll we'll hear more about it when the PS Plus games for May 2021 are revealed next week.

New AAA Multiplayer IP

Also today, PlayStation revealed that they've partnered with Firewalk Studio to create a new AAA multiplayer IP.

Firewalk is a relatively new studio, having only started in 2018, so you won't know any of their previous work.

Nothing specific has been revealed about what to expect from the game, but a PS Blog post outlines how the process has been going.

PS5 Console Stock

It remains very tough to find PS5 consoles in stock anywhere in the world. We've done our best to get all the updates we have.

UK

In the UK, stock drops are very sporadic. For the most part, it looks like we're going to have to wait until May for large consoles drops, but some small ones are still happening out of the blue.

There was a surprise drop earlier today from Smyths. We're not sure they have any online stock yet, but it might be worth checking your local store!

This could mean other retailers are planning surprise drops as well, but we don't think they will be in any meaningful numbers.

USA

Over the pond, it's a similar situation.

There were rumours of an Amazon US drop yesterday, but they only had Xbox Series X consoles in stock in the end.

If anything else pops up this afternoon, we'll be sure to let you know.

New Releases Today - April 22

One of the main things to keep an eye for today is the start of Season 3 in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, on top a new map coming to the battle royale.

Elsewhere, there aren't any other games launching on PS5 today, on April 22.

With Housemarque's Returnal launching next week though, there's plenty to look forward to.
