eFootball 2024 is in full swing after its launch five months ago, following on from the 2023 version of the game.

The free-to-play title from Konami, which replaced Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), has taken major strides forward in showing what can be achieved without a hefty price tag, and several updates have refined the game to leave eFootball 2023 well in the past!

In this article, we'll cover everything you need to know about eFootball 2024, including all the latest features and the highly anticipated return of Master League.

eFootball 2024 gameplay update

This year's eFootball game hasn't received a major revamp as such, which doesn't come as a surprise considering Konami has once again gone down the free-to-play route.

However, there have been and will continue to be some noticeable gameplay improvements based on player feedback, which Konami outlined on their website before launch:

"The main changes in gameplay are centred around dribbling and defending. Improved control responses will allow users to replicate the split-second decisions made at the elite level of football, thus enabling players to control the ball more closely and even dribble through congested situations.

The enhancement of accuracy in individual skills will enable users to coordinate their team and their tactical models to a superior level and create more goal-scoring opportunities on the virtual field."

In addition to gameplay changes, squad updates have been rolling out since September, ensuring the majority of squads, players, and face scans match those in real life.

All of the 2023/24 kits have also been added to official partners of eFootball, including Arsenal, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and AC Milan.

As well as kits, these clubs have their authentic stadiums in eFootball, which remains the only place where players can experience iconic venues such as Allianz Arena, Spotify Camp Nou, San Siro, and Stadio Olimpico.

New game mode

As part of the v3.2 update, Konami added a new game mode to eFootball 2024 called My League. Boasting similarities to Master League, My League is an offline game mode which enables players to enter real-life leagues and compete against real-life teams one season at a time using their Dream Team.

Users can add players on loan from the team they selected in the league, such as Arsenal in the Premier League, for example.

Throughout the season, different weather effects and various new cutscenes will appear, including a special trophy celebration should you finish top and win the league. There is no limit on how many times My League can be played, and users will be able to switch leagues once a season is completed.

New Boosters feature

A new feature called Boosters has been introduced to eFootball 2024 Dream Team. Konami says it will hand users the ability to "further enhance the attributes of their favourite players", allowing them to perform beyond their potential and maximum ability.

There are various types of boosters available in-game, including ones that are player-specific, team-focused, and appear by selecting players who meet certain criteria.

Konami adds that the feature will allow users to "build teams with a greater freedom, variety, and enjoyability."

This feature does draw some similarities to FC 24's Evolutions, which enables Ultimate Team users to upgrade certain players in their squad by completing challenges, improving stats and ratings in the process.

Master League returning

Konami previously stated that Master League would make a return in 2023, but it never arrived.

Master League is returning

When it does eventually arrive, it will be as paid DLC in eFootball, with Konami departing from their free-to-play model in order to bring it back.

In November last year, RealSport101 reached out to Konami for comment on Master League's progress, to which they responded:

"We won't be discussing future updates on an individual basis. KONAMI is committed to evolving the eFootball title and will keep the press informed as and when developments are made."

The return of Master League could provide a positive sign for the comeback of Become A Legend, with the implementation of this mode potentially acting as somewhat of a Guinea Pig.

This page will be updated as and when new updates are applied to eFootball 2024, so keep an eye out for future additions!
