*UPDATED* Genshin Impact 2.6 Preload: File Size, Content, Release Time & How to Download


We are just a couple of days away from the launch of Genshin Impact 2.6, the newest update in the adventures of the Traveler and Paimon!

After the return of Raiden Shogun and the Introduction of Yae Miko as a playable character, the action will be split into a big celebration in the Irodori Festival of Inazuma and exploration in the new region, The Chasm.

In other news, Kamisato Ayato is the next new 5-star Sword Hydro character, and that's not all the Genshin Impact 2.6 banners have in store, as Ayaka and Venti will be back!

To get ahead of the game and be ready for launch time, players can use the preload option for Genshin Impact 2.6.

Here is how to start downloading the files for the Ver. 2.6, and the file size requirements to be able to play the next update.

LATEST - Genshin Impact 2.6 Preload Time

The Genshin Impact 2.6 preload option is live now, and it will be available until the beginning of the Server Maintenance.

Server Maintenance

Genshin Impact servers will go under maintenance on March 30, 2022, at 6:00 am at server time (Chinese Standard Time).

In other time zones Genshin Impact servers will go down at:

  • March 29, 2022, 3:00 pm PST
  • March 29, 2022, 6:00 pm EST
  • March 29, 2022, 11:00 pm GMT

Servers will be down for around 5 hours, and players will receive compensatory Primogems for the time they are not able to play.

Travelers will obtain a minimum of 300 Primogems. Additionally, miHoYo gives 300 Primogems compensation for all the bug fixes found in the previous update.

Genshin Impact 2.6 File Size

Genshin Impact 2.6's file size will be around 6 GB for PC players.

In the case of mobile players, the IOS file size will be around 3.08 GB and 3.04 GB for Android.

How to Preload Genshin Impact 2.6

IT BEGINS: Players will soon be able to start preloading the next Genshin Impact update

PC

On PC, you have to boot up the game launcher and click on the "Game Pre-Installation" option on the screen.

After this, the game update should automatically install. Travelers can still play while preloading game resources.

Preloading will take up a certain amount of your network's bandwidth, so it's best to make sure you have a good network connection.

Mobile

Mobile players need to log into your account and go to the "Paimon Menu." Go to settings, then click "Pre-Install Resource Package."

If this doesn't work, you may spot the package on the main menu after logging in. Just click on it to get everything installed.

Travelers on Mobile cannot play the game while downloading resources, so it's best to start the process when you're taking a break or overnight.

PlayStation

Unfortunately for Playstation travelers, there is no option to preload the game yet. We'll update if that changes ahead of launch day.

The Playstation Console downloads the entire game again to ensure there are no corrupt files. Therefore, to play Genshin Impact 2.6, Playstation players need to download around 35 GB.

Genshin Impact 2.6 Release Date

Genshin Impact 2.5 will go live on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:00 am Server Time.

  • March 29, 11:00 p.m. EST
  • March 29, 4:00 a.m. GMT

The server's maintenance takes around five hours, with players being compensated 300 Primogems for the downtime.
