What to expect before Fortnite Season 6

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is nearly over and it has been a wild ride since it began in December 2020.

This season has seen various Chapter 1 locations return to the game, as well as characters across various entertainment IPs make their way to the game.

These include popular gaming characters such as Kratos, Master Chief, Ryu and Chun-Li.

To movie characters such as Terminator, Predator and the Xenomorph from Alien and many others.

Only time will tell what Season 6 has in store for us, but here is what we know so far and what to expect before the end of Season 5.

Season 6 Release Date

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 doesn't appear to be getting delayed, despite previous rumours.

This means that Season 6 will begin on March 16th.

End Of Season Event

Every season since Chapter 1 Season 4 we have seen a live event at the end of a season, with the exception of Chapter 2 Season 1.

These events help conclude the story that has unfolded throughout the season and also helps usher in the next season.

It seems that we won't be getting an end of season event this time, despite this season being very story-driven with the inclusion of Hunters.

There is just one week to go before the end of the season and no files have been added for an event, so unless Epic Games adds it in last-minute then it will likely mean no event, and also it could mean that the Hunter story will just carry over into Season 6 before finally concluding.

Week 15 Challenges

There is still one more week of challenges still to go before the season concludes.

The final opportunity to earn XP for the Battle Pass.

Epic Quests

• Distance travelled through sand (500)
• Spend 5 seconds within 20 meters of enemies while sand tunnelling (5)

Trinity Challenge Cup

On 14 March 2021, Epic Games is partnering with mobile carriers Three/WINDTRE to power the Fortnite Trinity Challenge, a new Trios tournament in the EU server region.

Board the Battle Bus with your Trio and play up to 10 matches in the 3-hour tournament window. The top-performing Trios in EU will unlock the new Trinity Trooper Outfit (both Styles)

The Fortnite Trinity Challenge is open to EU players on Android, PC, and console.

The top 3,333 Trios will unlock the new Trinity Trooper Outfit, and anyone who competes in at least five matches will unlock the Trinity Impact and Trinity Overload Emoticons.

The Trinity Challenge starts at 2 PM GMT on 14 March and will be in the Compete tab in the EU server region.

Switch Cup

On March 9, 2021, Nintendo Switch players will have the opportunity to earn the Cyprus Nell Outfit and Quantic Pulsar Back Bling for competing in the Fortnite Switch Cup 3.

This event is open to all eligible Switch players across all server regions.

The Switch Cup 3 will be a one-round, 3-hour tournament in which players can participate in up to 10 matches to earn as many points as they can within that 3-hour window.

The top-performing players from each region will receive the Cyprus Nell Outfit and Quantic Pulsar Back Bling.

Additionally, players will only need to accumulate 8 points to receive the Impasto Wrap reward.

FNCS Grand Finals

The FNCS is nearly over, with just the Grand Finals left to take place.

Thousands entered the tournament and now only 33 remain in each region.

Between March 12th and 14th, trios across the world will compete to be crowned the Season 4 FNCS champions and win their share of millions of dollars and the Axe Of Champions.

Marigold Bundle

A female Midas skin has been long rumoured to be coming to the game, with her first appearing in a loading screen many weeks ago.

She has finally been released and is called Marigold.

Rather than having a regular or fully gold style as Midas does, she will instead turn more gold as more damage is dealt throughout a match.

The new bundle is paid for with real money rather than V-Bucks and includes other cosmetics as well as 1,500 V-Bucks.

Marigold will be in the Item Shop until March 23rd.

Unreleased Content

Throughout Season 5 there have been many leaks and rumours about what is expected in the coming weeks.

These range from new weapons, items, skins, locations, new gameplay mechanics etc.

Sometimes these things don't get implemented straight away and show up in later seasons.
