Vanguard Season One is almost here and Sledgehammer Games has confirmed everything that's coming to their Second World War shooter in the next major update. It's safe to say that this is going to be another huge year for Call of Duty between this and the Warzone Pacific update.
Two new Perks coming to Vanguard soon
- Serpentine (Tier 21)
- Sprinting reduces incoming Ballistic and Explosive damage;
- Intuition (Tier 44)
- Your vision pulses when enemies are nearby, even through walls and obstacles;
It remains to be seen how effective these perks will be, but if you start a Tactical Sprint with Serpentine equipped you should be able to reduce your incoming damage by around 25%.
In addition to this, Intuition is going to work similarly to High Alert - however, it's more of a proximity alert rather than a line-of-sight alert. Both could be useful in the right situations and we're looking forward to how they impact the current meta.
When does Vanguard Season 1 start?
Call of Duty has confirmed that Vanguard Season 1 is expected to start on December 8th - however, they've not mentioned any specifics yet. A lot of Call of Duty's announcements are relating to Warzone and the upcoming Pacific update - it feels like Vanguard is being left out a little bit!
However, due to the fact that Warzone and Vanguard both share progression, we can look at one to uncover the start time for the other.
Vanguard Season 1 should start as soon as the Warzone Pacific update goes live at the following times:
- 09:00 PST - December 8th
- 12:00 EST - December 8th
- 17:00 GMT - December 8th
Take this with a pinch of salt until this is confirmed, but we should be able to download the Vanguard Season 1 update around 24 hours before this date.
What new content is on the way?
Call of Duty hasn't shared a lot of information about the Vanguard content coming in the next set of title updates - however, we do know that we're getting three new Operators throughout the next season and at least two new weapons.
Here's the last thing we heard about it all - we're expecting more "intel" in the next two days...
" Head back here soon and expect to learn about the two free functional weapons, new Operator, Zombies content, Multiplayer modes, and two maps all coming on December 8. That includes a Pacific-inspired take on a fan-favourite classic Call of Duty map…"
Throughout the season, we're going to get two additional Operators - on top of the one included in the Battle Pass - and an additional "core Multiplayer map". It also looks like we're getting some sort of festive event - however, there are no details about what this will entail yet.
