Recently, you might have seen a lot of talk online about "Call of Duty Vanguard" in the build-up to and after the Battle of Verdansk Warzone Event. If you're not up to speed, it's easy to get confused with the avalanche of news that's come out of Treyarch, Raven Software, and Sledgehammer Games over the last few days. What does this all even mean? Is Call of Duty Vanguard actually a new game in its own right or is it some sort of expansion? Here's everything you need to know.
REVEAL TRAILER - Vanguard is coming...
Call of Duty Vanguard is the official title of the next Call of Duty game and we've got a Reveal Trailer to go along with that announcement - now, anyway.
Sergeant Arthur Kingsley, Lieutenant Polina Petrova, Captain Wade Jackson, and Second Lieutenant Lucas Riggs are taking the fight to the remnants of the Nazis in Vanguard's fictional telling of the "rise of Special Forces". It's going to be a global affair though and Vanguard's Multiplayer reportedly has 20 maps at launch!
There's a lot to be excited about for Call of Duty Vanguard and we're due to find out more over the next couple of weeks.
"Vanguard" IS a new Call of Duty game!
You read that right! Call of Duty Vanguard is, now, the official name of the next Call of Duty title. We've been seeing leaks and teasers for the upcoming release for a few days now, but Activision has finally started to share concrete information about the new title.
Sledgehammer Games confirmed the title of the game, as you can see below:
In addition to this, the following teaser video was put together and released. It hints at a few of the environments and characters we're going to see feature heavily in Call of Duty Vanguard - Well... When the new game releases anyway.
We know it isn't a lot, but they're saving the full reveal for something special...
There's a Warzone Reveal Event coming soon, too
Looking at the Tweet above, you might be wondering what it's on about. The Battle of Verdansk is coming and there's going to be an in-game reveal for the new Call of Duty Vanguard game in Warzone this week.
The Warzone Reveal Event starts at the following times:
- 10:30 August 19th - PST
- 13:30 August 19th - EST
- 18:30 August 19th - BST
At the moment, the following information is all we have to go on:
"A new weapon is rolling into Verdansk...
"Assets in the field suggest an armored vehicle but intel is limited...
"Target arrival on location is 8/19...
"Squad up and work together to take it down.
As expected, it looks like Warzone's train is going to be heavily involved and many seem to think it's going to be replaced by an Armoured Train with mounted weaponry - Something you might see in the Second World War, as opposed to today's world or even the 1980s.
