The Call of Duty Vanguard reveal was just days earlier, but now we've got our first extended look at the Campaign and what to expect from Call of Duty Vanguard's narrative. Laura Bailey joined Sledgehammer Games and Geoff Keighley during Gamescom 2021's Opening Night Live to show us what we have to look forward to. Everything about this game looks incredible, really - Here's the latest.

STALINGRAD - Gameplay Demo Play-Through

As expected, we got to see a decent chunk of Call of Duty Vanguard's gameplay through the Campaign Demo at Opening Night Live.

We got to see the start of Polina Petrova's narrative, fighting through the streets of Stalingrad with desperation and danger around every corner. The Kar-98K, a fan-favourite, features heavily alongside the STG-44 and it's safe to say that it looks like a fantastic Call of Duty title.

Here's the footage below:

When does Opening Night Live start?

Opening Night Live - hosted by Geoff Keighley - is due to start at the following times:

  • 11:00 August 25th - PST
  • 14:00 August 25th - EST
  • 19:00 August 25th - BST

Keighley has already confirmed that titles like Far Cry 6, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Genshin Impact are going to appear and we're hoping for titles like The Division Heartland and Gotham Knights. There's a lot to look forward to and a good chunk of the two-hour showcase is going to be dedicated to Call of Duty Vanguard.

What are we expecting from Call of Duty Vanguard?

We already know when Call of Duty Vanguard is going to come out and we know quite a bit about the multiplayer - there's an Alpha due to start this weekend and a Beta coming up in a couple of weeks - so this is going to all be about the experience. Call of Duty Vanguard is going to be stunning and we're expecting to see some footage from the early stages of Polina Petrova's campaign missions on the Eastern Front and beyond.

We could, of course, see something else - however, Laura Bailey is going to be there so we're taking a punt on seeing some of Polina's narrative played out.

Either way, this should be a great chance to see Vanguard's new Blind Fire system and Environmental Destruction in play ahead of the Champion Hill Alpha this weekend and - with any luck- we'll also see something a little exciting. We're out here hoping for Reznov - You know that's what Vanguard really needs...
