When will WWE 2K22 be released?

WWE 2K22 is closing in on this year's release date, and anticipation is high after several delays in the title's launch.

Here's everything you need to know about when WWE 2K22 will be released and carry this series into an exciting new chapter.

When will WWE 2K22 be released?

WWE 2K22 has seen its fair share of delays, and they go back quite some time to the cancellation of WWE 2K21 which was initially expected to land in October of 2020.

When that happened, it looked like WWE 2K22 would be the revival of the series, and an October 2021 release date was what most had in mind.

That was the original plan, but a string of WWE releases and other issues led the developers at Visual Concepts to push for more time so they could deliver a truly finished game.

It was an important move considering how WWE 2K20 failed by being unfinished at launch, and we're finally closing in on the next chapter.

WWE 2K22 will be released in March 2022, but they've stopped short of giving us an exact release date just yet.

More WWE 2K22 reveals are expected this month, so we likely aren't far out from a confirmed release date and other details about the upcoming game.

WWE 2K22 Release Date before WrestleMania 38

While they haven't given us an exact date, we do actually have a good idea of when the title is expected.

Normally, WWE tends to time game releases and reveals just before one of their major pay-per-view events.

In the past that meant a WWE 2K release around Hell in a Cell in October, or reveals around SummerSlam in August, but we're on a completely different timeline now.

With confirmed reveals expected this month, we're looking at those landing likely the week of January 17, as this would make them early enough to allow a full week of Royal Rumble hype separate of those announcements.

If that becomes their new frequency, and this is kept for the actual launch, we expect the WWE 2K22 release date will be March 24, 2022.

This would again give a full week following launch for the game to build it's own anticipation and the focus to shift towards the final run-up to WrestleMania 38.

These details still remain unconfirmed, but hopefully we won't have to wait much longer to get official word from 2K and WWE.
