WoW Classic WotLK Inscription Guide: Leveling, Materials, & Recipes

WoW Classic WotLK Inscription Guide: Leveling, Materials, & Recipes - WoW Inscription

As World of Warcraft's newest and most recent profession—although it was released alongside Wrath of the Lich King over ten years ago—, Inscription sits in a very unique space as during its original release it was used as a source of extra class-specific power. However, as the MMORPG evolved the profession didn't keep up, being relegated to more cosmetic uses.

That class-specific benefit can be expected come Wrath of the Lich King Classic's release, as this cold-hearted expansion introduces the profession, opening up never before seen avenues in the game.

With that in mind, here's an in-depth guide for Inscription in WotLK Classic.

WoW Classic WotLK Inscription Guide

As the new profession coming into WotLK Classic, Inscription brings its own set of unique benefits that other professions can't provide.

In this guide, we'll take a look at what the profession offers in the upcoming WotLK Classic expansion, provide a leveling guide from Vanilla to WotLK, and list out some recipes to look out for that will be highly sought after in the new expansion.

What does Inscription offer in WotLK Classic?

Once WotLK Classic launches, there will be tons of items and other features players can benefit from.

To start it off, players can benefit from what the profession mainly provides - Glyphs. As opposed to enchants or benefits of the like, Glyphs provide class-specific power, oftentimes enhancing attributes, and upgrading or altering a spell. Additionally, alongside Engineers, Inscriptionists can create their infamous Darkmoon Card trinkets and can provide shoulder enchants, and off-hands.

How to level Inscription in WotLK Classic

Unlike players who hold Tailoring or Enchanting professions where materials can be hard to come by as they don't have a gathering profession to benefit them, Inscriptionists can utilize Herbalism as a great and economic way to level up their skills.

Inscriptionists take their herbs and mill them for pigments which are used to create Glyphs. Knowing that it can be fairly straightforward in that players can just gather herbs for their required materials to level up their profession skill.
