South Korean tennis player Kwon Soon-Woo raised eyebrows with his Wimbledon 2022 first-round performance against World No.1 Novak Djokovic on Monday.

Who is Kwon Soon-Woo?

The 24-year-old South Korean is currently World No.81 and South Korean No.1. Kwon has one singles title to his name having won the 2021 Astana Open, but has largely been an unknown on the elite tennis scene.

Kwon was beaten in four sets by Andriy Rublev in the French Open last month and was beaten in five sets by Denis Shapovalov in the Australian Open, making him no stranger to causing problems for tennis' big names.

Having turned professional in 2015, this match with Djokovic has elevated Kwon into the public discourse.
