Nick Kyrgios will play his second match of the 2022 US Open on Wednesday when he takes on the Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi.
The Aussie was in cruise control during his first-round match as he beat best friend, fellow countryman and long-term men's doubles partner Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets.
Kyrgios now comes up against France's Benjamin Bonzi as he goes in search of a ticket for the third round. Here is everything you need to know about the Frenchman ahead of Wednesday's match.
Who is Benjamin Bonzi?
Benjamin Bonzi is a 26-year-old French tennis player who heads into the 2022 US Open ranked 50th in the men's singles rankings.
He heads into this summer's tournament off the back of recent defeats to Botic van de Zandschulp and John Isner in Winston-Salem and Cincinnati respectively.
The Frenchman beat his fellow countryman Ugo Humbert in five sets on his way to the second round, throwing away a two-set lead on his way to an eventual 6-2 final set win.
Bonzi is yet to make it past the second round of a Grand Slam competition this season, reaching the second round in Australia and at Wimbledon before eventual defeats to Karen Khachanov and Jenson Brooksby.
