Sheridan's Oldham departure: As it happened

John Sheridan has taken charge of Oldham a staggering six times with his latest tenure coming after the 57-year-old came out of retirement in January in an attempt to try and keep the club in the EFL.

Relegation followed, making Oldham the first ever club to play in both the Premier League and the National League, and the hangover has been apparent at the start of the 2022/23 National League campaign.

The Latics are the biggest name operating in the fifth tier of English football but have slipped down to 16th in the table following a return of just four points from their last six league outings.

Sheridan has now departed the club with a major rebuild required to restore Oldham to their former glory.
