Both of this season's FA Cup semi-finals will be held at Wembley Stadium and will go to extra-time and penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes and extra time.

The FA Cup semi-final between Leicester City vs Southampton FC will take place on Sunday, 18 April, with the action set to kick-off at 6:30pm BST / 1:30pm EST.

FA Cup semi-final match officials and VAR confirmed

Referee Chris Kavanagh has been selected to take charge of the Leicester vs Southampton tie.

The two assistant referees running the lines will be Dan Cook and Sian Massey-Ellis.

David Coote has been named as the fourth official, with Nick Hopton the reserve assistant.

VAR (video assistant referee) will be Paul Tierney, assisted by Adam Nunn.

4,000 locals allowed in stadium for FA Cup Semi-Final

Spectators will be returning to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final between Leicester and Southampton with 4,000 local residents allowed to attend the game.

The match is being run as a test event for the return of crowds once coronavirus lockdown restrictions are eased, but neither Leicester nor Southampton are permitted their own supporters at the game.

Fans have been prevented from attending sports venues across England since the scrapping of the tier system in December, so this is a big breakthrough for the football community!
