2x2 Hotseeker As Featured LTM
Watch out for 2v2 Heatseeker, that will kick off as featured LTM on August 12th, just a day after the latest season goes live. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Speed Demon on August 19th!
This swift LTM merges mutators, the speed of Boomer Ball (without the wild bounces), demos on contact, as well as a fast respawn timer. Spring Loaded, the Rumble alternative, which is currently a mutator option in Private Matches, will also be included to the LTM mix later this month.
More New Features
If those got you excited, there's more new features to watch out for:
Streamer Safe Music Feature
A new Audio Setting is now included, so players can turn off copyright protected music. This will help put a stop to content creators having their streams or videos removed because of DMCA violations.
You can access this by checking the "Streamer Safe Music (Only)" box in Audio Settings. Note that DMCA protected audio will be muted or replaced by music that is free to use. Remember that this setting will touch both Rocket League Radio and Player Anthems.
Undersized party Rank restrictions
After the launch of Season 4, players who signed up in Ranked playlists in an undersized party ( two players in Competitive 3v3 Standard or two players joining a 3v3 Standard Tournament) will have to be in three Ranks of each other in order to queue.
Why? So that the third teammate found via matchmaking will join a team that is right around the same Rank as their teammates. How does it work? If one party member is Platinum 2 and the other is Diamond 3 (with a gap of four Ranks), they will not be able to queue in 3v3 standard.
However, if one is Platinum 3 and the other player is Diamond 3 (a gap of three Ranks), they can queue. It is important to note that brand new players will only be permitted to join with players who are in Gold 3 and below (when in an undersized party).
Improvements to Casual Matches
The frustration coming from teammates leaving Casual Matches early is real! The game has taken recent steps to address this concern.
After the update, the option to forfeit Casual Matches (like Competitive Matches) will now be available. Of course it need a majority vote fot a team to concede. What's more is, banning players who keep leave casual matches will now be implemented.
A one-time leaving of a Casual match per day will not be penalized. But, remember the bans will get longer if more Casual Matches are abandoned.
Season 4 Trailer
There is no official trailer for season 4 just yet but we will update here as soon as one arrives. Keep an eye on their Youtube page when it arrives.
After years of asking for it, season 4 will finally see the arrival of 2v2 tournaments. They will take place like the usual 3v3 versions but not at the same time, giving players the chance to play both.
These will arrive on August 11th with the rest of the new updates. We could see some special event alongside it.
Expect all the latest updates right here as we find out what we will see next and how you can unlock them.
