South Korean label thisisneverthat has revealed a new 2002R colourway with New Balance via Instagram releasing as part of a wider collaborative collection.
This isn't the first time thisisneverthat has partnered with New Balance as the two companies also teamed up to design new 1906Rs earlier this year.
However, the South Korean label looks as though it's revisiting the 2002R silhouette this time around after releasing a white and black 2002R colourway back in 2020.
That being said, we're focusing solely on the upcoming 2002R collaboration in this article. With that in mind, here's everything we know about the sneakers so far...
thisisneverthat x New Balance Release Date
After originally kept under wraps, thisisneverthat has now confirmed that the New Balance collaboration is available now as of 4 August 2022.
Make sure you act fast if you're looking to secure your pair as they could sell out fast being a high-profile collaboration.
thisisneverthat x New Balance 2002R Design
Originally, we only saw one image of the thisisneverthat x New Balance 2002R collaboration, so details surrounding its design were minimal.
From what we can make out from the photo though, it seems as though the sneakers feature a light grey and dark blue colour scheme, perhaps with subtle pops of metallic silver around the branding NB branding on the sides.
The sneakers also appear to feature N-ergy soles with two-toned ABZORB SBS heel cushions, much like the previous white and black 2002R colourway, although we don't know this for certain.
A subsequent image has since been revealed which showcases the new 2002R in a little more detail.
Upon closer inspection, it would appear thisisneverthat and New Balance could have combined canvas and mesh with suede panels across the toe boxes and heels.
This mesh and canvas combination regularly features in the 2002 range, with the lightness and breathability of the materials making the combination a staple amongst some of the best sneakers for summer around.

The thisisneverthat 2002Rs are currently listed at the New Balance store for £155 in adult sizing.
It's not clear just yet whether smaller and subsequently cheaper kid's sizes will be made available as well, so stay tuned for future updates right here.

You can also find the 2002Rs listed at New Balance; however, they're not scheduled to drop until 19 August in Europe and the UK.
