V10 R League Week 4 Preview

The V10 R-League is approaching crunch time in the group stages. As some teams reach their final match, every point truly counts.

Just three teams per group will progress to the playoffs, leaving four teams on the outside looking in. Can the favourites hold their nerve against hungry underdogs?

Let’s see!

R8G Esports vs Redline

Group A

Monday, 3 May: BT Sport 2 (8pm BST) & ESPN3 (6pm EST)

New boys R8G have struggled to get up to pace this season, and their fight for points doesn’t get any easier as they come up against defending champions Redline.

Coming off their rest week and a 4-0 win over Red Bull, confidence is high in the Redline camp, but will they look past their new opponents and toward a Group A showdown with Aston Martin?

We doubt it.

Prediction: Redline 4-0 R8G Esports

BMW vs McLaren Shadow

Group B

Tuesday, 4 May: BT Sport website (4pm BST) & ESPN3 (6pm EST)

McLaren’s big win over Williams sets up what is basically a Group B decider this week.

BMW lead all of the V10 R-League with 10 points, and would seal that bye to the Semi-Final with a 2-2 draw. McLaren can cement their championship credentials with a win over the in-form BMW side.

Prediction: BMW 3-1 McLaren Shadow

Red Bull Racing vs YAS Heat

Group A

Wednesday, 5 May: BT Sport website (4pm BST) & ESPN3 (6pm EST)

Red Bull jump-started their season with a 3-1 win over Aston Martin last week, but they are still chasing the pack in Group A.

YAS Heat sits just above them in the table, in that all-important #3 spot two points ahead of Red Bull. This is YAS’ final match of the group stage, and a 3-1 win would secure their spot in the playoffs. Can they get it done?

There’s no doubt Red Bull has the pace to compete at the front, but inconsistency has been their enemy. This week there is no room for error.

Prediction: Red Bull Racing 2-2 YAS Heat

JAESA Suzuki vs Fordzilla

Group B

Thursday, 6 May: BT Sport website (4pm BST) & ESPN3 (6pm EST)

It's the last chance saloon for JAESA Suzuki, who is the only pointless team in the V10 R-League so far.

The Italian side will need to pick up at least a 3-1 win to keep their playoff hopes alive going into the final week, but can they get the job done?

Fordzilla has shown a lot of steel this season and picked up points in both their matches so far. However, they are now without lead driver Pablo Lopez, which could be a huge blow in this one.

Prediction: JAESA Suzuki 2-2 Fordzilla
