Konami lands ANOTHER license ahead of the launch of eFootball

Konami has landed a huge license ahead of their eFootball launch, bringing the MLS to life in the new game.

While it does not look like this agreement will impact FIFA 22, it could pave the way for a future squabble like we have seen in Serie A!

Release Date

We don't yet have an official release date for eFootball - but we know it will arrive in early Autumn.

Judging from previous PES releases, we think the new free-to-play game is likely to arrive around Tuesday, 7 September.

For everything we know about eFootball's Release Date, head here.

What is eFootball?

eFootball is an all-new football simulation platform from the makers of PES and Winning Eleven.

It will be Free-to-play and completely rebuilt in Unreal Engine.

eFootball will launch worldwide first on PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and PC Steam this Autumn, with iOS and Android to follow soon after.

eFootball represents a fresh approach for the long-running franchise, previously known as Pro Evolution Soccer.

It seems that Konami is trying to re-establish itself as a big name in gaming, taking a competitive share of the football game market by going free-to-play would be huge - but will it pay off?

MLS players confirmed

Watch the official eFootball MLS trailer below.

11 MLS players have been signed up as eFootball ambassadors, including Mexican star Jonathan Dos Santos.

The end of the trailer shows that "all MLSPA coming this season to eFootball", although there is no mention of any teams.

Whatever the agreement entails, it looks as though the MLS players themselves will be included in the game on a 'multiyear video game agreement'.
