WoW Shadowlands: New Zombie Pre-Release Event Invades Azeroth

Ever since Wrath of the Lich King, World of Warcraft have included zombie pre-release events for new expansions that wreak havoc in major cities.

This includes players fighting off zombie hordes made up of players who have been infected.

For Shadowlands, the Scourge zombie pre-release event is now live!

Here's what you need to know.

WoW Shadowlands Pre-Patch Zombie Event

Zombies are running amok in Azeroth ahead of the release of Shadowlands.

These zombies are spawning in every major city, killing NPCs and spreading their presence.

If zombies infect and kill players, they become zombies as well.

How to Play as a Zombie

If the Scourge life is appealing to you, know that it's quite easy to join the ranks of the undead.

You can become a Scourge zombie by killing Plagued Roaches in major cities, or by fighting zombies until you become infected.

After you fall, you will rise as a ghoul, ready to infect players and NPCs around you.

As a zombie in this WoW Shadowlands pre-release event, players have 5 abilities they can use to fight.

These abilities deal damage, rally nearby zombies, and even speed up nearby zombies.

Argent Dawn

The Shadowlands pre-release event tasks players with fighting off the zombies of the Scourge, and the Argent Dawn have arrived to help the cause.

Along with offering a hand against the scourge, the Argent Dawn offer rep rewards for players that fight back.

While massively populated cities will have a hard time falling victim to the Scourge, you can expect waves to come at night when there are fewer players ready to fight back.
