Far Cry 6: Counting down to release time

The worldwide release of Far Cry 6 is finally here!

The wild series promises a brand new adventure with tons of promise and action in store as players come to Yara, a country of conflict and chaos.

If you've already pre-ordered your digital copy then we can tell you exactly when you'll be playing! For those of you who have pre-ordered physically, make sure you're stood guard by the mailbox for when it drops through the door.

Here's when you'll be able to get your hands on Far Cry 6 and jet off to Yara.

LATEST: Far Cry 6 is LIVE!

With a midnight worldwide release, Far Cry 6 is live for most regions, though some will still have a few hours left.

Those with digital versions of Far Cry 6 can hop right into the game at midnight local time to start its engaging main story and missions.

If Far Cry 6 has yet to unlock for your time zone, don't forget to preload to get into the action straight away!

Far Cry 6 Release Date and Time

Far Cry 6 is being released on Thursday, 7 October, and will unlock at midnight worldwide. This means that as soon as it hit midnight in your region, you can start playing.

If you pre-ordered the digital version of the game, you can start playing straight away as your pre-load should have been automatically done. If not, double-check as you may need to start it manually if automatic downloads are turned off.

Pre-load has been available on all platforms since yesterday (Xbox for a little longer) so make sure you're not waiting around for progress bars when you could be enjoying the game instead!

Will it be on Ubisoft Plus

If you are a Ubisoft Plus subscriber, then you will have access to the game on release day for no additional cost! All brand new releases head straight into the service for your one monthly fee so you can save plenty of cash compared to buying the games outright.

Naturally, if your subscription lapses, you will lose access to the game entirely and need to either resubscribe or buy the game to play again. Ubisoft Connect will store your save in the cloud though meaning you can start the game on PC and move to console (and vice versa) if you wish.

Download Size

Far Cry 6 is a pretty big game, coming in at around 60GB on console. That does not include the 25GB or so needed for the HD textures pack on next-gen consoles.

The game is about the same size on PC, thankfully.
