Releasing on GamePass, it managed to grab millions of eyes immediately and has found itself with a handful of important updates. Now, we're looking forward to its fifth expansion, Hidden Depths.
LATEST - Only One Day Away
As the heading for this section implies, we are a single day away from Minecraft Dungeons' latest expansion.
We don't know the official release time yet but we will update as we find this out.
What Is Minecraft Dungeons?
Minecraft Dungeons is a Diablo-style spinoff to the Minecraft franchise taking an overhead view as players mow down familiar mobs.
It's fairly rudimentary in design but that works as part of the appeal of the game. It's something you and your younger sibling can pick up and equally enjoy.
The gameplay does get a little repetitive at times, but this is something the DLC aims to solve. The current season pass grants you to access two preexisting packs and the next two on release.
Hidden Depths Announcement
It revealed very little about the DLC so that tweets and videos can speculate about it. This worked well as it allowed them to tease some details over the following days.
What Is the Hidden Depths Expansion?
The Hidden Depths has you explore the oceans and fight the spreading corruption at its root, the darkest depths of the ocean.
This bit of story DLC has you take your pre-existing character on a whole new journey alongside friends online or sitting beside you. It will take place entirely in the ocean biome and we're likely to see the Drowned, Guardians and so much more.
The gameplay seems much more floaty than previously established due to the motion of water, which should give some nice verticality to traversal. Perhaps your knowledge of this biome will help you uncover new secrets and fight new enemies.
Hidden Depths releases exactly one year after the release of Minecraft Dungeons, on May 26. This means you only have a few weeks until it comes out. For more information on preloading the DLC and the specific time it releases, keep an eye on here closer to release.
